APD puts its technical and museographic stamp on the new cultural symbol of Abu Dhabi: Qasr Al Watan

The Spanish company has carried out the technical development and museographic implementation of the main rooms of this space, that has been enabled in the complex of the Presidential Palace to host visits.

Acciona Productions and Design (APD) has turned this new cultural symbol of the Presidential Palace of Abu Dhabi into a visitable space designed to enhance the historical and cultural legacy of the United Arab Emirates. For this, a building called Qasr Al Watan – or Palace of the Nation – has been enabled.- in the Presidential Palace complex (more data in Digital AV).

The actions of APD include the intervention on a total area of 12.000 M²and have focused on the conditioning for visits of the main rooms of the palace, three of which have museographic character.

specifically, The interventions have included the construction of four large cubes -of 6 meters on the side and located in the main hall, that allow you to have different visions of it from within-, as well as the installation of graphics, Audiovisual equipment, the placement of showcases and the installation of the pieces of the collection.

The exhibition includes historical documents, Ancient pieces and manuscripts in fields such as the sciences, arts, Humanities and literature, as well as presidential gifts, among others.

APD has also installed an elevated platform for the transit of visitors with the aim of facilitating accessibility to the site and ensuring its preservation.. Another highlight of this project is that all elements are removable., For which this company has applied scenario technology, to provide lightweight aluminium structures that assemble and disassemble without the use of tools.

In addition, This modular and removable design is applied to other elements of this space, as showcases, Projector structures, Platforms, as well as the design of the chests in which all the pieces are stored when they are not exposed.

The space enabled in the complex of the Presidential Palace to host visits, Qasr Al Watan or Palace of the Nation, It is composed of three areas accessible to the public: the Visitor Center; the Palace Visit Experience, -that has carried out APD together with other entities-, and the Qasr Al Watan Library. In addition, Visitors also have the possibility to enjoy the gardens around this complex and other additional services. as a cafeteria or restaurant.
