the University of Notre Dame is recognized as one of the leading institutions of higher education in the country, at the forefront of teaching, research and service to society. With more than 12.000 students, has revolutionized its approach to education by developing a catalogue of basic AV standards based on Crestron.

Crestron's standardization allowed us to empower faculty and students to use technologies both on campus and abroad”, explains Jason Railton, Manager of ND Studios AV Technologies at Notre Dame.

The Campus Crossroads project was the university's largest construction initiative, with more than 240.000 square meters of classrooms, research and student areas, Shows, meetings, events and hospitality.

With a track record of successful deployment of intuitive technologies across campus, Jason and his team were asked to integrate their basic AV standards for the three buildings. “Our task was to create new spaces and help bring the vision of the university to life.”, explains Railton.

With Crestron's touchscreens and Notre Dame's interface, users can customize the space easily and easily. Crestron DigitalMedia is used within classrooms, teaching laboratories, conference rooms and tutoring areas to distribute content and provide a more immersive learning experience. In addition, each building has unique spaces for students, professors and guests relate, celebrate and organize events on campus.

The Office of Information Technology has been transforming traditional classrooms into active learning spaces, changing the way students and faculty interact within the classroom. Crestron DM NVX serves as the backbone for these intuitive learning environments and allows content to be shared collaboratively.

“DM NVX was not only an optimal solution for our active learning classrooms, but it has also helped us to design and deploy the core of these dynamic spaces", comments Railton.

To equip the new conference rooms, the university has adopted the Crestron Flex platform as part of the standard AV core. “We needed a solution that was simple, intuitive and able to integrate natively with our existing video conferencing platform. Crestron Flex provides us with a consistent user experience, exceptional audio and high image quality".

Since the opening of the Crossroads Campus Project, Jason and his team have redesigned crestron technology more than 175 campus-wide classrooms. “It has helped us provide a consistent and seamless user experience both inside and outside the classroom.", adds Jason Railton.
