Elation illuminates the new auditorium of the Humbolt School in Costa Rica

the Humboldt College is an international educational center located in San José (Costa Rica), serving from preschool to high school. Founded in 1912 by Germans, it is also known for its profusion of extracurricular activities.

recently, this educational center has built a performing arts space to expand its program, the Humboldt Auditorium, a multipurpose space that in addition to serving as a performing arts platform for students, cultural events and is available for commercial use.

This auditorium is a modern space, with the capacity to 238 people, where students perform recitals and all kinds of dance performances, music, theatre and debate. Houses state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment with specialized technical personnel to support.

The distributor of Elation Professional for Costa Rica, Darko Lighting of San Jose, Provided, designed and installed the new stage and architectural lighting systems for the auditorium, as well as a decorative stretch ceiling, in collaboration with the architecture company Rojas Architects.

The auditorium's new stage lighting system includes 16 Luminaires Fuze PAR Z175, a modern PAR light with 175W RGBW COB Led motor, that projects a high-quality flat light field but emulates the classic look of a traditional Fresnel lens.

Fuze luminaires work with 16 Colour 5 Profiles, a high quality ellipsoidal spot with 180W RGBAM Led motor and CRI of more than 94.

For greater positioning flexibility, the system also includes four moving heads, Fuze Wash Z350s, an automated SINGLE-source PAR wash luminaire with 120W RGBW COB LEDs and 120W COB zoom 7 at 55°.

The lighting system is quite flexible, as it is used for a variety of purposes, both by the school and by the external artists who enter and use the auditorium, so it is both an educational and public space”, explains Gabriel Zalkindas Jarovisky, Associate Director of Darko Lighting.
