The Maat relies on Christie's laser projection to be a European benchmark for contemporary art

The Art Museum, Lisbon Architecture and Technology (Maat), has installed ten laser projectors of the GS and HS Series of Christie to dynamize the different samples that are exposed in their spaces.

Located on the banks of the Tagus, next to the neighborhood of Belém – one of the tourist and cultural poles of the capital of Portugal –, The complex that makes up the Maat Integrates the old building of the city's power plant, belonging to the EDP Foundation, The largest electricity group in the country, and extends along 38.000 m2.

specifically, the Maat has acquired through Total AV, Christie Partner, two D13WU-HS and eight DWU850-GS units, plus seventeen lenses. These are laser projectors of 1DLP technology and WUXGA resolution, with a very quiet operation and incorporate Christie BoldColor technology that improves performance and color saturation.

"We chose laser technology because it's ideal for museums that are open seven days a week., since they practically do not require any maintenance or costs of lamps -points out Costa Gomes-. The truth is that they have been the best option for our needs; We have already used them in several installations with different technical equipment and they have always had the approval of national and international artists".

The Christie projectors of the Maat have just been used in the exhibition Servitudes – Circuits (Interpassivities), by Danish artist Jesper Just, to project videos on different tulle screens displayed in the museum's Oval Gallery.
