Defined this way by Forbes, Web Summit 2019 was developed between the four pavilions of the FIL fairground and the Altice Arena. To move the almost 30 millions of pixels of audiovisuals that flooded the main stages of this summit, a wide variety of projection solutions were deployed, processing, Christie's show control and interactivity.

Web Summit is considered the largest technology conference on the planet. This year's edition, recently held in Lisbon (Portugal), has used a wide variety of projection solutions, processing, show control and interactivity of Christie to move the almost 30 millions of pixels of audiovisuals that flooded the main stages of this summit.

This annual macro event was attended by 239 exhibiting companies to demonstrate their disruptive capacity, test new products and take the pulse of innovation. They also met 2.150 startups to get funding, as well as multinational investors and thought leaders.

By the 22 stadium stages Altice Arena and the fairgrounds of the Portuguese capital (FIL) Passed 70.000 visitors from more than 160 Countries, 1.206 speakers and 2.526 accredited journalists.

The Portuguese event services company Europalco was responsible for the design and audiovisual execution in the main stages of the event, and, for that purpose, it counted on Christie as its technological partner of reference.,

El estadio Altice Arena, the main space of the summit, with the capacity to 20.000 people, was equipped with a gigantic Led mural, as well as with three projection screens of 6.1×3,3 metre, where attendees could follow from their seats everything that happened on stage. For this installation, three projectors of 20.000 Christie 3DLP technology lumens.

A Spyder X80 multi-screen processor, with a processing power of 80 megapixels, Real 4K resolution and 60Hz, managed the signals of this stadium, including live streaming, Powerpoints, Ledwalls, Projections, Monitors, mobile units, multiviewers, Keynote, Players, Etc.

"It was amazing to see how one team was single., like the Spyder X80, was able to receive and send dozens of signals from different sources in such high resolutions with a volume of no less than 20 millions of pixels", says Nélio Lima, Head of Audiovisuals at Europalco.

In the pavilion 1 another of the main auditoriums of the event was installed, for the Creatiff conference aimed at designers. Two 4.4 screens were used here×2,5 meters illuminated by two 3DLP projectors of 14.000 Christie lumens, managed by a Spyder X20 video processor.

In this same pavilion there was a second stage, for SportsTrade conferences, where two screens of 3.5 were located×2 metre, illuminated by a pair of Christie 14K 3DLP projectors controlled by another Spyder X20.

In another pavilion of the event, the stand of the Portuguese electricity company EDP, also shone for its audiovisual display. Europalco installed here a Ledwall screen of 2×2 meters where people interacted thanks to an integrated Pandoras Box AirScan multi-touch sensor. The AirScan is an IR laser system that, combined with Christie Widget Designer software, allows you to interact with digital content.

"A massive technological event with an audience as demanding as this required the most robust audiovisual tools, flexible and reliable on the market. Christie's solutions were up to the task, both at the projection level creating dynamic and bright images, as at the level of management and processing, allowing perfect synchronization at all times and maximum creativity", concludes Nélio Lima.
