JNcQUOI Asia restaurant offers gourmet sound with Genelec

Garrett Audiovisuais has been the company in charge of the infrastructure, providing this establishment, located in Lisbon, of a high-quality zoned audio solution that can be managed through panels strategically distributed throughout the premises or through a smartphone.

The inauguration of the JNcQUOI Asia restaurant has set a trend in the city of Lisbon, dazzling with a large-scale design, with multiple spaces. Accompanied to this environment, Garrett Audiovisuais A sound system has been designed and installed Genelec latest generation, brand that distributes Audio-Technica Iberia.

With the capacity to accommodate more than 300 personas, It's not just a place to eat, It is an establishment where people go to see and be seen, either at the bar, the restaurant, the sushi bar or the outdoor terrace with garden. Garrett supplied a high quality zoned audio solution for the entire space, which can be managed through panels strategically distributed throughout the place or through a smartphone.

The first space is a luxurious bar capable of hosting live bands as well as DJs. It consists of three separate areas. The first is the DJ area which uses a pair of Genelec G Five, providing the performance of a professional active monitor but with the flexibility of XLR and RCA connection, one set of subwoofers 5041 inserted into the wall, behind the DJ booth. The main bar area is equipped with six monitors for installation 4030 and six other older people 4040, plus three subwoofers 5041 hidden in the columns. Y, finally, in the toilets (a refuge from design in themselves) Garrett has installed four AIC25 ceiling monitors.

The challenge for the bar area was to provide enough coverage for what is a very open space without sacrificing quality for SPL.. The solution also had to be discreet and as aesthetically pleasing as possible..

“We spend a lot of time placing the monitors perfectly to have optimal results, and finally we fine-tuned the system with the feedback controls built into the monitor itself, plus EQ and apply delays from a matrix,” says Garrett's sales director, Raul Fernandes, who also points out that there is an output to each monitor that makes it possible to control each one individually for greater precision.

For the restaurant area, Garrett opted for a total of fourteen 4040. The biggest problem in this area was the acoustics, since the outer wall is mainly glass and there is a huge glass atrium overhead, that houses a more than imposing dragon.

“Since there was no space in the restaurant for subwoofers, the largest size of 4040 gave the extended bass response we required, while maintaining a pleasant aesthetic. The most challenging aspect was managing the highly reflective environment. Fortunately, Genelec products excel in this regard, and once again we were able to calibrate the system precisely for optimal results; in other words, clean audio, intelligible, at levels where diners can still carry on a conversation at a normal level, confortable”.
