JNcQUOI Asia Restaurant delivers gourmet sound with Genelec

Garrett Audiovisuais has been the company in charge of infrastructure, endowing this establishment, located in Lisbon, of a high-quality zoned audio solution that can be managed through panels strategically distributed throughout the premises or via a smartphone.

The opening of JNcQUOI Asia restaurant has set a trend in the city of Lisbon, dazzling with a large-scale design, with multiple spaces. Accompanied to this environment, Garrett Audiovisuais a sound system has been designed and installed Genelec next-generation, brand that distributes Audio-Technica Iberia.

With the capacity to accommodate more than 300 people, it's not just a place to eat, it's an establishment where people go to see and be seen, either at the bar, the restaurant, the sushi bar or the outdoor terrace with garden. Garrett provided a high-quality zoned audio solution for the entire space, that can be managed through strategically distributed panels throughout the place or via a smartphone.

The first space is a luxurious bar capable of hosting live bands as well as DJs. It consists of three separate zones. The first is the DJ area that uses a pair of Genelec G Five, that provide the performance of a professional active monitor but with the flexibility of xlR and RCA connection, and a couple of subwoofers 5041 inserted into the wall, behind the DJ booth. The main area of the bar is equipped with six monitors for installation 4030 and six others older 4040, in addition to three subwoofers 5041 hidden in the columns. and, At last, in the toilets (a haven of design in themselves) Garrett has installed four AIC25 ceiling monitors.

The challenge for the bar area was to provide enough coverage for what is a very open space without sacrificing quality for SPL. The solution had to also be discreet and aesthetically as pleasant as possible.

"We spend a lot of time locating the monitors perfectly for optimal results, and finally we made a fine adjustment of the system with the response controls built into the monitor itself, in addition to equalizing and applying delays from a matrix,"Garrett's sales manager says, Raul Fernandes, who also points out that there is an output to each monitor that makes it possible to control each individually for greater accuracy.

For the restaurant area, Garrett opted for a total of fourteen 4040. The biggest problem in this area was acoustics, since the outer wall is mainly glass and there is a huge glass atrium also over the head, that houses a more than imposing dragon.

"As there was no room in the restaurant for subwoofers, the largest size of the 4040 gave the extended bass response we required, while maintaining a pleasant aesthetic. The most challenging aspect was managing the highly reflective environment. fortunately, Genelec products stand out in that regard, and once again we were able to calibrate the system accurately for optimal results; in other words, clean audio, intelligible, to levels where diners can still have a conversation at a normal level, "Nice place to stay".
