Audio-Technica creates a permanent demo room of Genelec monitors free of reflections
Zero Reflections Space, How this innovative room is called, allows sound technicians to appreciate with all the guarantees the sound qualities of The Ones monitors 8361A and the adaptive woofer W371A of the multinational audio.
Located in the facilities of Audio-Technica Iberia, in the TAF Room of Arroyomolinos (Madrid), Zero Reflections Space is the demonstration room that this company has prepared, in a reflection-free environment, to appreciate the sound qualities of The Ones 8361A monitors and the W371A adaptive woofer of Genelec.
At Zero Reflections Space, The sound technicians of recording and broadcast studios have the possibility to attend quietly to listen to their favorite songs, or the audio program selected by Audio-Technica, and discover the advantages of these coaxial monitors working in conjunction with the adaptive bass system.
Roberto Lopez, brand manager of broadcast and studies of Audio-Technica Iberia, is responsible for attending and demonstrating to professionals the multiple possibilities of these systems when they work together, especially the W371A adaptive woofer system.
This equipment allows to obtain an extremely flat response in different types of space, No need for expensive acoustic treatments or bass traps. This results in better directivity management thanks to its three working modes: complementary, Continuous directivity or anti-reflections.
The Ones 8361A SAM coaxial monitors from 3 Pathways provide optimal DCW directivity control, with a totally neutral sound inside the axis and very little colored outside it, maintaining very high SPL performance, with analog connectivity and AES/EBU.
The Ones 8361A SAM
This self-powered coaxial monitor 3 10" vias offers the most advanced acoustic performance of any studio monitor manufactured to date. Delivering an exceptionally wide dynamic range, as well as its directionality and sound image and an SPL of 118 Db, Provides top-quality monitoring at any listening distance (until 5 metre), Ideal for small or medium-sized rooms.
Incorporates two acoustically hidden woofers, newly designed, generating high SPL with exceptionally low distortion and new MDC coaxial mid and treble transducers to provide uniform directivity, Low distortion, high SPL and a wide frequency response reaching 40 khz.
The Minimum Diffraction Enclosure of the 8361 Removes coloration. And the entire front baffle acts as a directivity control waveguide, generating an extremely wide and colorless hearing point.
Like all models in The Ones series, Genelec 8361 Facilitates faster and more consistent decision-making, as well as working reliably in longer sessions, since unnatural images (The main factor contributing to auditory fatigue) are minimized.
When used in combination with GLM calibration software, Can be adapted to any acoustic space, compensating for all negative factors introduced by room acoustics, as well as helping to produce reliable mixtures, from stereo to very complex immersive formats.
The system 8361 includes MDC technology (Minimum diffraction coaxial); DCW (Directivity control waveguide); ACW (Acoustically concealed woofers); Iss (Intelligent signal sensing), Protection circuits, optimized amplification and compatible with ISO-Pod media.
The Ones W371A SAM
This 14" self-powered adaptive bass + 12" by Genelec is described as a revolution in bass reproduction, as it definitively eliminates the negative influences of the room on the reproduction of bass.
The W371A SAM has been designed to perfectly complement monitors 8341, 8351 and 8361 from the series The Ones and, in conjunction with these models, create a series of full-range monitoring solutions capable of delivering unprecedented neutrality, and maximum levels of control over the directionality and effects of room acoustics.
For the first time, A studio can have all the advantages of a main monitor but with the freedom to place this independent system in the optimal position within the control room. In addition, Offers the ability to switch between Near Field Monitor and Primary OR, No image scrolling.
Incorporates two high-performance woofers: one facing forward and one backward, and features a wide palette of novel ways to adapt system performance to the room at the lowest four critical octaves, delivering flatter and more uniform room frequency response with more consistent LF images.
Genelec W371A uses GLM software to select and optimize signal processing for the best bass radiation mode, taking into account both the location of the monitor and the listening position.
It also serves as a stand for The Ones three-way monitors., for seamless integration. Combined with W371A offer three different modes of low frequency radiation within the room: complementary, Continuous directivity and anti-reflection.
All of them allow the user to choose between a flat and neutral LF response, Avoiding 'acoustic cuts', with continuous directivity of the main monitor up to the lowest LF frequencies, or the reduction of harmful reflections on the walls, ceiling or floor of the living room.
To attend, Zero Reflections Space send an email to rlopez@audio-technica.es stating the name, Mobile phone and possible dates/times.
