The MegaPointes were placed on four scaffolding structures -20 Appliances each- distanced between 1 and 1,5 km, and between 250 and 400 meters from the base of the mountains. Wide, Its light covered an area of about 2,5 kilometers along the mountain.
The nearby land areas that participated in the light show, including the Festival site, are traditionally covered by projected images plus some additional light sources that this year included 12 BMFL Spots focused on the park area and the fairgrounds.
MPH also supplied around other 200 Luminaires for the event – including some Robe LEDWash 600s-, that were used within a projection surface of a giant sphere.
Luminaire data was transmitted via Art-Net and ACN. MegaPoints used a point-to-point wireless Ethernet network Ubiquiti (Art-Net over Ethernet) comprising an omnidirectional antenna, Located in the main area of the Desert Park, and smaller nanobeams on each MegaPointe scaffolding tower.
The Parrtjima light show in 2020 was programmed and run on a grandMA console 2 of MA Lighting, operated by Richard Neville of Mandylights.

“Events like this are a lifesaver right now.… apart from the much-needed cash flow, is the increase in mood. It will be interesting to see what the Australian Government has in its roadmap for the entertainment industry path when all this is over.”, comments Matt.
