Audio-Technica unveils its new generation of ES945 and ES947 surface microphones

New versions, the omnidirectional ES945O/XLR and the cardioid ES947C/XLR, feature enhanced ipx4 functionality and water resistance. They are designed for conferencing applications, recording, monitoring and other demanding sound capture.

Audio-Technica has announced new versions of its ES945 omnidirectional condenser surface microphone and ES947 cardioid, which include the company's UniGuard RFI shielding for greater immunity against interference from radio frequencies.

The current ES945 and ES947 standard models will be replaced and renewed by the new ES945O/XLR (omnidirectional) and ES947C/XLR (cardioid), featuring enhanced functionality and IPX4 water resistance.

They are designed for surface mount applications such as conferencing, recording, monitoring and other demanding sound capture applications. They come standard in black but are also available in white (ES945WO/XLR and ES947WC/XLR).

Update M3 and M5

Audio-Technica has also unveiled new miniature versions that take up little space, designated ES945O/TB3 and ES947C/TB3.

These microphones are suitable for the same applications as the ES945O/XLR and ES947C/XLR, but its ultra-compact design allows a very discreet assembly on a table, on the ceiling or on the wall. They come standard in black and are also available in white (ES945WO/TB3 and ES947WC/TB3).

The current ES945/LED and ES947/LED (models designed specifically for conferencing) will be updated/replaced by the new ES945O/FM3 and ES947C/FM3.

These microphones carry a ring of RGB Led of two visible states (seven selectable colors + Off) to indicate the silencing state and a touch-sensitive capacitive user switch that allows local silence, making them ideal for conferencing applications. FM3 models have an XLR output connector of 3 Pin.

last, the new ES945O/FM5 and ES947C/FM5, similar to FM3 models but with an XLR output connector of 5 Pin, are new to the line. With these you can not only configure the switch to toggle between muting and live audio, but, with the external contact closure of the microphone, it can also be configured to activate an external device, such as a camera or room lighting, Etc.
