Sony develops first TV with cognitive intelligence: Bravia XR Master A90J OLED 4K HDR

Available for marketing in Europe at the end of this March, its innovative XR cognitive processor divides the screen into numerous areas and detects where the 'focal point' is in the image.

Sony announced the sale in Europe of its new Bravia XR Master Series A90J OLED 4K HDR TV, the world's first to date with cognitive intelligence, for which it uses a completely new processing method "that goes beyond conventional AI, designed to replicate the way humans see and hear", point from the company.

The XR cognitive processor (boosted by cognitive intelligence) divides the screen into numerous zones and detects where the 'focal point' is in the image, because when humans see objects, unconsciously focuses on certain points.

While artificial intelligence (AI) conventional only detects and analyzes elements of the image, like color, contrast and detail individually, the new XR cognitive processor can perform cross-analysis of various elements at the same time, just like the brain does.

By doing it this way, all the elements fit together to get the best end result, so everything in the scene is synchronized and realistic, something conventional AI can't achieve.

The XR cognitive processor can also analyze the position of the sound in the signal to precisely match what is displayed on the screen. In addition, turns any sound into 3D surround for greater realism, with an immersive soundscape.

As explained from Sony, this processor "learns, analyzes and understands unprecedented amounts of data and intelligently optimizes each pixel, frame and scene to get the most realistic image and sound Sony has ever provided".

OLED 4K HDR Bravia XR Master Series A90J TVs feature exclusive Bravia Core service, preloaded on all new models in that series, so that users can enjoy a selection of the latest titles, premiumand classics, SPE and the largest collection of IMAX Enhanced content.

In addition, Bravia Core is the first in the industry to introduce Pure Stream technology, achieving a quality equivalent to BD UHD almost lossless, with streaming up to 80 mbps.

Bravia XR Master Series A90J OLED 4K HDR TVs, with sizes of 65 and 55 Inch, will be available on the market by the end of March and, later, in 83" format.
