Planar TVF stars in the unique immersive installation at the Edmonton Library
Two Led videowalls planar, with a 'V' shaped design of great impact made up of AVI-SLP, along with high-definition LCD touch panels inspire the imagination and interactive learning of this revamped Canadian library.
the Stanley A Library. Milner is the headquarters of the Edmonton Public Library (Epl), located in the city center of the same name, in Alberta (Canada).
Until before the pandemic, to this library came more than 1,2 millions of visitors a year, although it is now temporarily closed and only contactless pick-up service is available (Library Takeout).
previously, the library had just completed a major revitalization project, with a complete interior renovation to add new spaces and services with the integration of new technologies.
For this project, those responsible for the Epl hired the digital service provider AVI-SPL to create a large-scale interactive digital experience in the new library lobby.
basically, two high-impact visual configurations were designed: a larger, more frontal one, with a design in the form of a V, and a smaller one, located at the back of the first.
Both visual systems - which are generically referred to as The Wall– consist of Led videowalls from the TVF series of planar, that are integrated with a bottom row of high-definition LCD touch panels.
The visual objective of this unique design in the form of V front-end installation has been to create an immersive environment for visitors and their participation in this digital experience.
That's what Steve Till-Rogers points out., director of technology services at the Edmonton Public Library: "visualization technology is framed to create a window to a 3D rendered scene, which seems so realistic that you could almost access the interior".
Planar TVF is a family of Led screens for videowall configuration, with fine pixel pitch of 0,9, 1,2, 1,5, 1,8 and 2,5 Mm. that allows for a stackable and creative design, eliminating cabinet-to-cabinet wiring, reducing installation complexity and vertical alignment, that is done faster and easier.
The TVF series' 27" cabinets have a profile of less than 3", which significantly reduces the space of other Led videowall, to which is added its front service to facilitate its maintenance.
