Bang Olufsen Beolab 28 and Beovision

Designed to deliver an optimal, immersive sound experience, Beolab flexible wireless speakers 28 of Bang & Olufsen combine advanced acoustic solutions with intelligent functions to reproduce sound as conceived.

Considered as “the launch of the year of Bang & Olufsen“, the Danish manufacturer has presented to the Spanish media Beolap 28, an advanced technology concept, design and craftsmanship embodied in these flexible wireless speakers, delivering adaptable, studio-quality sound.

Christoffer Poulsen, Vp. Bang Senior and Head of Product Management & Olufsen, that's how he explains it.: “Beolab 28 is our most advanced speaker pair to date, offering powerful sound and flexible layout options thanks to its sleek and elegant aesthetic. Includes state-of-the-art wireless connectivity and streaming that allow you to enjoy music exactly as you want”.

Bang Olufsen Beolab 28If the Danish manufacturer introduced in 1986 Beolab Penta, one of the first active speakers in the world and the first with column design of the firm, “Beolab 28 is one of the most important advances so far of the company, with a more powerful and adjustable sound, versatile design and innovative wireless connectivity”, miguel martín points out, Bang retail experience & Olufsen.

While its target market is high-end consumer or premium, the possibilities offered by Beolab 28 contemplate its introduction in the facilities, “as hotels, Auditoriums, luxury shops, Etc. with the aim of offering a differential and unique audio experience”, notes Heidi Winkler, director assistant general counsel of B&Or, who presented the product via videoconference from Denmark.

Adaptable sound with studio quality

Bang Olufsen Beolab 28Beolab 28 adapts to any space to instantly transmit any content and deliver powerful, studio-quality surround sound.

Bang's sound philosophy & Olufsen is reflected in Beolab 28, as the listener can physically feel the bass, faithfully achieved, thanks to a subwoofer integrated based on a 6.5 controller″ made to measure. the driver has a large extension for powerful and precise bass.

Bang's latest generation of active compensation & Olufsen adapts the response of the bass to the stay, allowing speakers to be placed in any space.

The use of three Drivers full range of 3″, located at the front and one on each side, and a Tweeter from 1″ at the front to offer optimum quality of the treble, creates homogeneous directionality across the entire range of significant frequencies.

the Drivers full range and the Tweeter have exceptionally high sensitivity and have been developed specifically for Beolab 28 in order to create a clear mid-range quality, even at very high levels, as well as accurate and dynamic treble reproduction.

Thanks to the Beam Width Control, Beolab 28 ensures the best sound experience in any situation. In 'narrow beam mode”, the music reaches the listener directly and intact, which minimizes interference from sidewall reflections and allows you to hear the optimal point.

In 'wide beam' mode a greater amount of sound is diffused around the speakers, maintaining a natural tonal balance even when separated from the optimal hearing area in front of the speakers, all controlled with its manufacturer-patented processor and the motorized curtains created for this model.

Simplicity to promote the sound experience

Bang Olufsen Beolab 28Beolab 28 redefines the perception of an all-in-one speaker’ in which simplicity is accentuated. the subwoofer integrated, that projects downwards, amplifies bass capacity enough to wrap larger rooms, no need to add an external one.

Another advantage is its easy and simple installation, both in column mode and on the wall so as not to subtract space in the room, that thanks to the wireless connection eliminates cables and synchronizes the speakers at 24bits/48kHz in microseconds.

Built-in music playback allows users to answer their phone and send their call directly to the speakers. They can also listen to music in a specific space, as the living room, or throughout the house through Airplay 2 or Chromecast, the application of B&O and Bluetooth.

Speakers will be fully compatible with Beolink Multiroom in autumn of 2021 by means of an automatic software update. Beolab 28 it can also be paired with a TV from the manufacturer using Powerlink or Wireless Powerlink.

For convenience and manual interaction, the company's development team has created a simple touch surface that lights up when approaching thanks to the proximity sensors it incorporates.. A sleek and simple interface allows you to pause/play, change songs and turn the volume up or down.

The addition of four preference buttons makes it easy to access your favorite radio station via the playlist Bang & Olufsen Radio or Spotify Incorporated. Users have the ability to control speakers in multiple ways, either directly through the user interface, using a remote control from the manufacturer or through your mobile phone.

Beolab's design 28 consists of a column speaker with a round curvature at the lower end, followed by a conical shape containing the woofer. The speaker is held together by a spine that hides the wires and gives the impression that it floats in the air..

Known for its automatic movements, Beolab 28 integrates a 'magic' opening system’ when turned on, or when the sound beam is adjusted, indicating whether the speaker is in narrow or wide beam mode.

Materials designed to last

Bang Olufsen Beolab 28Beolab 28 has been created in the legendary Factory 5 of Bang & Olufsen in Struer (Denmark), following the development process that characterizes the manufacturer, in which engineering, design and premium materials are balanced.

The anodized aluminum cylinder is formed by a spinning technique while being pressed to shape it. To achieve the conical shape of the foot, the aluminum component is carefully molded using expansion and reduction techniques achieving an unusual and surprising shape.

Wooden roofs are manufactured in Bjerrum Nielsen, a supplier with whom Bang & Olufsen works from 1949, in which each piece is monitored by hand to ensure the best quality.

Bang's Commitment & Olufsen with longevity also applies to technology, since the speaker includes the new replaceable connectivity module from the manufacturer, which is equipped with enough processing power and connectivity technology to accommodate new performance and functionality updates for years to come.

The Beolab 28 has been inspired by the iconic column shape used in Beolab Penta, Beolab 6000 and Beolab 8000, than Bang & Olufsen still maintains today.
