Claypaky to bring the Eurovision Song Contest stage to life 2021
The more than 480 Xtylos will be key to the light shows of the Ahoy Arena Rotterdam, place where the Eurovision Song Contest will be held 2021 between the 18 and the 22 May.
We're a few weeks away for the Eurovision Song Contest 2021, this year will be held in the Ahoy Arena Rotterdam 18 to the 20 and the 22 May and will be organized by the European Broadcasting Union (UER).
Osram, parent company of Claypaky, will be the official lighting partner of the Eurovision Song Contest (Esc) 2021 and, as in previous years, contribute to the event by lighting up a key building in the city of Rotterdam.
Claypaky he own will be represented by an endowment of 481 Xtylos, luminaires equipped with a custom-made laser source with highly concentrated coloured beams of light.
These will be essential for light shows at Ahoy Arena and are being provided by show rental and production companies, Including Ampco Flashlight, who is esc's official technical provider for lighting. This event is hosted by host broadcaster Nederlandse Publieke Omroep (NPO), us and Avrotros with Erwin Rintjema as HEAD of ESC Production.
“Xtylos was released by Claypaky a few years ago 18 months and has already been used at several major global events and specified for other, that were cancelled or postponed due to COVID-19”, explains Alberico D’Amato, Claypaky Sales Director. “All Xtylos to be used in the ESC 2021 are now available on the market and are used by major rental companies around the world”.
Although the stage has been redesigned, ESC organizers 2021 have decided to maintain last year's technical assembly, since the event was cancelled due to the pandemic. The Claypaky Xtylos were also part of that project and have been confirmed among the key lights of the event. Henk Jan van Beek, of Light-H-Art, this year's ESC lighting designer, called Claypaky's Xtylos "irreplaceable teams", their beams of light being a key part of the project".
