The Cinema Exhibition Chain Cinépolis has selected nsign.tv to manage your digital signage channels in your rooms in Mexico, Brazil and part of the United States.
Cinépolis, the largest Mexican film exhibition company in Latin America, Operates 862 complexes of this type, with a total of 6.664 Cinemas in seventeen countries, ranking third in the world in number of screens, the second place in number of tickets sold and the most sold per theater in the world.
This exhibitor has chosen the nsign.tv communication platform to manage its digital signage channels in some of its centers in different countries. A project he is carrying out with the Mexican integrator Stratech (Partner of the technology company in this country).
The first phase of the project involved the download and installation, Fully remote. of a total of 1.600 nsign.tv players in its fleet of devices in all its complexes in Mexico, Brazil and part of the United States.
Global Management Project
The origins of this project date back to August 1999. 2020, when Cinépolis' marketing managers were looking for a new communication platform to globally manage their digital signage circuit, until then managed with three different CMSs in its rooms in Europe, Latam and the United States.
“They tested us with a multitude of scenarios and we responded quickly and tangibly to everything they proposed to us: compatibility of our Player on the full range of pre-existing screens; creation of Applets Customized and integrated with your systems; Screen synchronization, Overlay text to videos… There was no request that we didn't develop with our platform”, recalls Germán Talón, CTO of nsign.tv.
Cinépolis needed a solution that would allow them to integrate the data of the billboard and the prices of the cinemas' restaurant areas automatically. The data to be displayed on the screens, whose destiny was the Menu Boards digital and billboards, they had to originate from the information in their systems, as well as that the contents were updated without human intervention, Fully automated.
This is how they introduced the new concept of smart templates from nsign.tv, Applets, microapps that run from the platform to automatically change and/or update content from an external source, in addition to being used to dynamically change content, saving time and production costs.
One of the developments tailor-made for Cinépolis has been the integration of these Applets with the company's internal servers, with the aim of extracting the information automatically via reading of .xml files.
After evaluating several platforms, Cinépolis chose nsign.tv for its power, flexibility, as well as the ability to develop improvements and speed of response. This is what this film exhibition chain points out: “nsign.tv allows us to do things that the other platforms had told us were impossible to do".
Hardware Regarding, Cinépolis uses different types of screens in its different cinemas, that translate into a diversity of sizes, Resolutions and operating systems.
But none of this has been an inconvenience to deploy the platform with all the casuistry in about three weeks and with hardly any intervention from the technical team nsign.tv or Stratch, since the client himself carried out the migration autonomously after having been instructed in the use of this platform.
