Genelec Smart IP speakers contribute to smart work

In the office space Cecil Coworking Stockholm has opted for Smart IP technology Genelec to achieve optimal sound in a smart working environment.

The audio system, along with the rest of the audiovisual systems in this space of 3.200 square meters, it was designed, supplied and installed by specialists in the integration of corporate audiovisual systems Scan AV Kommunikation AB.

Smart IP is a Genelec development that provides audio, power and control via a single network cable. This makes installation easier while maintaining the manufacturer's characteristic sound quality.

Scan AV had to be quite creative with the placement of the speakers, but careful positioning, the choice of mounting accessories and almost invisible wiring have resulted in an installation that matches and even contributes to the high-quality look of the rest of the project architecture, planning for soil and design elements.

Scan AV installed a total of 36 Smart IP speakers as part of a distributed system divided into twelve zones, on two floors. All of them connected with fiber-stacked network switches that act as a single gigantic switch. There's 34 compact speakers 4420 evenly spread throughout the office area and all open spaces, and two 4430 something more powerful in the bar area.

All control is done through a custom-coded AMX system with touch panels to manage the zones, volume, content, pre-elections and events based on time and calendar.

The system also allows full control from a remote location, minimizing costly and intrusive on-site visits. A total of five selectable stereo sources can be distributed to 36 individual speakers or be assigned to the twelve predefined zones.
