Kremlin State Palace is updated with DiGiCo consoles
In the Great Hall of Kremlin State Palace a redundant system has been installed that integrates the consoles DiGiCo Quantum7 and Quantum338, with the routing solution Stage Existing Tec Nexus on-site.
the Kremlin State Palace, celebrating its 60th anniversary next year, is one of the largest and most prestigious auditoriums in the world. The building occupies Moscow's geographical and historical centre and houses the Kremlin Ballet Theatre. recently, the Great Hall has been equipped with the latest generation of DiGiCo mixing tables, supplied by the distributor for the Russian market, Aris Pro.
With capacity for almost 6.000 Spectators, the Great Hall has hosted performances by some of the world's most important dancers, like Olga Lepeshinskaya and Maya Plisetskaya, as well as the famous soloist Galina Vishnevskaya, not forgetting international artists Mariah Carey, Tina Turner or Cher.
"The caliber of productions on the premises meant that the reliability of the system was the number one requirement of the management team of the State Commission for the Development of the Russian Federation", says Alexandre Soloukhin, head of Aris' Projects Department.
The project included the installation of a fully redundant system that integrates DiGiCo consoles, brand that markets in Spain RMS Proaudio, with the routing solution Stage Tec Nexus existing on-site. To facilitate integration, manufacturers worked together to enable custom control software, using DiGiCo's extensive OSC implementation to communicate with their respective teams, meeting the specific requirements of the Kremlin Palace.
"With the release of custom software by Stage Tec, all DiGiCo consoles and racks were integrated into Stage Tec's Nexus system, which ensured a system-efficient workflow", says Evgeny Silenko, Kremlin's lead sound engineer.
Consoles Quantum7 and Quantum338 DiGiCo were chosen by Aris' team for this project.
"We wanted to use the latest generation of DiGiCo consoles, with the most advanced Quantum engine, to make sure the system wasn't just reliable, but also proof of future applications", explains Viktor Kizhaikin, head of the Kremlin's Sound and Video Department.
Some extras have also been added, such as the expansion of the QUANTUM7 FOH console, with an additional fader expansion unit ex-007, as well as achieving total creative freedom for the sound engineer by complementing FOH table processing with Waves plug-ins, that are processed by the SoundGrid Extreme server. "Our system is really flexible, since there are Optocore interfaces, madi, Dante and AES to connect third-party devices and systems", Viktor Kizhaikin continues.
The Quantum338 table is used for monitors and as a portable console. In addition, the team selected high-end DiGiCo SD-Racks with John Stadius'de microphone preamp cards 32 Bit.
Aris engineers performed the installation, launched the system and formed the on-site team in the use and maintenance of DiGiCo equipment.
For nearly six decades, the Great Hall has hosted some of Russia's biggest musical performances and the most significant historical events and celebrations, that have become part of the pages of the cultural history of Russian art.
"With the implementation of DiGiCo's Quantum7 and Quantum338 consoles in the room sound ecosystem, we have ensured that the audio quality of this emblematic venue meets the most modern and high global standards", clarifies Katerina Pogodina, CEO of Aris.
