Tampere Hall lights up its concerts with Sustainable Led Technology from Elation
The integrator Audico Systems has installed nearly three hundred Led Pendant Fuze pendant luminaires Elation Professional for the spectacular Finnish room Tampere Hall.
Located at 180 km. North Helsinki, Tampere Hall houses the Tampere Opera And the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, and is the largest concert and congress center in the Nordic Countries. Now it has also become one of the most spectacular Led lighting installations in the world.
Audico Systems has been responsible for the installation of 281 dynamic Led luminaires Fuze Pendant Elation Professional in this concert hall, who star in the project to update their lighting to comply with EU regulations to remove halogen bulbs and renew the system.
“Installation required good quality white light, with high color reproduction and highly saturated colors for the effects. The luminaires also had to be very quiet”, explains Audico's project sales manager, Tapio Jarvinen.
Fuze Pendant's choice was clear, as J'rvinen adds, “for its good light quality (CRI 90) regulation. It also had enough power to cover the premises and, as it doesn't have a fan, doesn't make any noise”.
Audico supplied the units and was responsible for the design of the lighting and control systems, working closely with Tampere Hall technicians, as well as the installation and commissioning of the luminaires and programming of the control system.
One of the biggest challenges audico's team faced was time constraints. Most of the installation took place over a three-week period last year, where more than 370 existing halogen lamps and were replaced by 281 Fuze Pendants, along with another hundred Led luminaires. Five regulatory cabinets were also removed, five electrical boxes were installed and all data wiring was completed.
Tampere Hall is a carbon neutral building and has been a pioneer of ecological value in Finland for years. This environmental responsibility has been reflected in the option for Led technology.
“Savings come from more precise control, of the ability to control each light individually," points out, "J-rvinen". Now they can turn on only a few lights if necessary or just those in a given area, such as on stage.
The result is a system with fixed scenes for different types of use: orchestra rehearsals, public arrival, cleaning, Etc. He claims that a power limit has been set for Fuze Pendant luminaires in the 80%, “but when it's all on it just works 40%, so there's a lot of power in this luminaire”.
These Led units, of 11.000 lumens of power, are equipped with 25o lenses and recessed into existing positions using a custom mounting part. The narrower lens was needed for long ranges, ranging from 15 to 18 metre. The color temperature of the Fuze Pendant is adjustable between 2.400 and 8.500 K, but it's been fixed on 3.000 K.
Tempere Hall has already been able to hold its first events with the new lighting system, even some great television productions and weekly live broadcasts by the philharmonic orchestra.
