MA Lighting Technology, Clay Paky and Ayrton shines one more year in Eurovision

The recent Eurovision song contest 2021 has had a spectacular show in the Ahoy Arena of Rotterdam configured with hundreds of luminaires of MA Lighting, Clay Paky and Ayrton.

eurovision 2021, one of the most anticipated events of the year after its cancellation in 202 because of the pandemic, has counted in its recent celebration, the past 22 May in the Dutch city of Rotterdam, with the participation of 39 Countries.

the Ahoy Arena has hosted a spectacular show in which the lighting design has been a fundamental protagonist of the performances, with hundreds of luminaires of MA Lighting, Clay Paky and Ayrton, Brands premium of lighting officially represented in Spain by Stonex.

Although the scenario has been redesigned, the technical assembly of the last edition has been maintained 2020. This great production has required more than 7.000 meters of fiber cable to carry 305sACN and 37 Art-Net universes in redundant mode at 10Gbps. Installation connected 10 dimcities, with a total of 65 nodes for DMX and 32 switches for information distribution.

Lighting design, carried out by Henk-Jan van Beek, has specified a wide variety of luminaires, with wide presence of spotlights mounted on the grille, but also on the ground.

Claypaky was represented with its mobile spotlights 481 Xtylos, they offer a custom-made laser lighting source that gets powerful ones, concentrated and colorful beams.

The show has included 386 Ayrton luminaires to create the overall atmosphere and effects. Among them are 180 Foci profile Hurricane-X, 161 for the show and 19 as main light.

specifically, 58 of the Ayrton Hurricane X were connected to the system Follow-Me, with three targets available on the lighting table GrandMA3 of MA Lighting. In addition, have been used 64 Karif-LT, a versatile solution suitable for long throw applications. The creative options have been completed with 140 Systems MiniPanel-FX, a small solution.

Eurovision is always one of the great live shows, that this year has been one of the first big shows to be held after the pandemic.

The control of this spectacular gala has been made taking advantage of the potential of twelve GrandMA3 Light, ten of them placed in FOH and two in soil for more detail, what they have been used for 32 units of Processing Units divided into three sessions on a network.
