Extron NAV Pro AV brings IP flexibility to the University of Nottingham Trent
The solution Extron NAV Pro AV over IP has been chosen by the University of Nottingham Trent for the control and deployment of 119 AV systems, with 65 screens″ and soundbars, all composed of Roche Audio Visual.
Founded in 1843 and configured on five campuses, the University of Nottingham Trent (NTU) is an academic reference in the United Kingdom and globally, with more than 30.000 enrolled students from all over the world, so last year he decided to subdivide the space to create more classrooms.
This project, interrupted when COVID-19 arrived in the UK, it also brought with it a new design of the space to meet social distancing requirements and the deployment and integration of the AV systems of the new classrooms, that they had to be flexible enough to change the arrangement of them.
To carry out this project, university officials have worked on the design, deployment and installation of 110 audiovisual media, with 65 flat screens″ and soundbars, with the integrator Roche Audio Visual and the manufacturer Extron.
Although the supports and AV systems seem at first glance fixed installation, they are easy to relocate to other spaces and have connectivity through the university's network through Extron NAV Pro AV over IP.
So he explains Graeme Bagley, designer of teaching spaces at the NTU: “we decided on a customized solution for rapid deployment, with a predictable budget per unit. On-time delivery, established partnerships and strong support were key factors in selecting the system integrator and suppliers”.
for Peter Midgle, sales director of Roche AV, “a project of this magnitude, using traditional AV switching and transmission technologies, it would have been impossible to complete within two weeks, and we are very satisfied with the start-up phase, streamlined thanks to Extron NAV Pro AV over IP”.
The system consists of primary and secondary stands. The former originate av content, that is displayed locally and distributed across the network to be displayed in up to five spaces or new classrooms.
The children are associated, thanks to the combination made for this project between an Extron switcher with its control system, making it easier for students to view any available AV content source, Including HDMI from an embedded PC or content shared wirelessly from devices Byod through Miracast or Apple TV.
The network connectivity provided by Extron NAV Pro AV over IP makes the relocation of an audiovisual system from one room to another quick and easy, with a power cord and an Ethernet cable as the only connections.
