Shanghai Pudong Stadium installs its sound system with DAS Audio

Alongside Fluge Audiovisuals, DAS Audio has installed in the stadium Shanghai Pudong a sound system consisting of forty-four HQ-212.95-CX, four WR-8826-CX and four OVI-12-IP54.

The Shanghai Pudong Stadium, home of Shanghai Port Football Club, It is a recently created stadium that has the capacity to 33.765 seats. Its construction began at the beginning of the 2018 and ended in October last year, its exterior design being one of the differentiating factors in its execution. However, sound was also an essential part and DAS Audio technology was used for its installation.

The main idea of its conception was to resemble its exterior structure to a traditional Chinese porcelain container. A smooth white metal material was used to carry it out, that resembles the clarity and smoothness of porcelain.

Shanghai Pudong Stadium meets all the requirements of FIFA A-level international competitions, being one of the world's leading stadiums in China and the rest of the world. In addition to the capacity to host football events, It is equipped to open its doors to other types of events, such as esports.

In a stadium of these characteristics, The design and installation of sound and public address systems is of vital importance, allowing attendees to hear clearly and accurately the voiceovers and musical interventions, regardless of where they have their location.

The installation and configuration of the sound was entrusted to DAS Audio, who together with Fluge Audiovisuales worked to bring the sound of the venue, thanks to the active participation of its technical director in Asia in the design of the installation, Germán Rodríguez.

For this sound infrastructure, the following have been used 44 HQ-212.95-CX Systems, four WR-8826-CX and four OVI-12-IP54.

The HQ-212.95 DAS solution has been designed for medium and large installations such as halls, Stadiums, Auditoriums and Theatres. Offers tight control over coverage and high power capacity, allowing for use individually or in multi-unit array configurations. Enclosures include state-of-the-art interior and exterior coatings for weather resistance and durability in extreme conditions.

For its part, The WR-8826-CX features two 6B speakers to reproduce low frequencies. A compression driver with 1" annular diaphragm is responsible for its treble reproduction. It is designed for the outdoor installation market and offers two levels of protection depending on your location, CX (Covered Exposure) for indoor outdoor or DX installations (Direct Exposure) for direct exposure to inclement weather.

Last, The Ovi-12 is a unique and versatile speaker. Can be mounted on walls, recessed into ceiling structures or suspended. All with the clarity and power of a true two-way system. Including a coaxial speaker of 12 Inch, housed in a lightweight polypropylene frame, It allows excellent speech intelligibility and complete musical reproduction, in open spaces such as restaurants, discotheques, shops, churches and convention halls.
