With capacity to accommodate up to 1.200 people, The multi-purpose live performance venue of 3.352 square meters, designed by Ryder Design & Architecture, based in Santa Monica, It has a main room of 17 meters wide by 23 meters deep with a balcony of 9 meters deep, which initially led RAT Sound to consider a system K2 or Kara of L-Acoustics for the project.
“In our first Soundvision models, the K2 exceeded our system needs for space, so we switched to the Kara, that we knew would work well”, recalls Adam Figueroa, Director of System Integration, RAT Sound. “Wanting more low-frequency support in the air, We match 10 Kara per side with four SB18 flown behind each array, but it wasn't ideal for video sightlines.”.
When the arrival of the K3 from L-Acoustics was known, they decided that it was what they needed.. “It gave us the compact, full-range system we wanted without having to fly any subwoofers., and the system did not require any change in amplification. The K3 was a triumph in every way, as it required minimal redesign”, adds Figueroa.
now, Vermont Hollywood speaker system features eight K3s flown per side for the main, four Kiva II Spread across the edge of the stage for the front fill and six subwoofers KS28 placed under the stage.
