Visix standardizes with AxisTV Signage Suite the University of Las Vegas
As the sole provider of digital signage of the University of Las Vegas, the multinational Visix has deployed new interactive solutions and migration to AxisTV Signage Suite, your new management platform.
Present as a provider to deploy a digital signage network in the University of Las Vegas (UNLV – United States) for years, Visix has continued to develop interactive solutions that now extend to five departments and meeting spaces.
The UNLV, through your IT team and responsible for managing the network, has worked closely with Visix to carry out this technology strategy with the aim of establishing a single-vendor network to serve multiple departments.
In addition to developing custom digital signage templates and designs for all departments of the university, Visix's creative services team has focused on developing custom interactive signage solutions.
These systems are now in five departments, and each includes unique maps and directory data to service specific campus buildings and floors.
The company has developed a common user interface across four departments to provide a family-oriented experience for students and visitors moving between these buildings., specifically for the Faculties of Education and Law William S. Boyd and for the Stan Fulton Building, which houses the Unlv International Gaming Institute.
The same interactive signage design has recently been incorporated into the William F College of Hospitality. Harrah, a newly built educational centre, which has also been the first to have the new generation digital signage platform AxisTV Signage Suite of Visix.
The content management system (cms) of the company provides visual media and messages to screens, supporting the university's organizational communication strategy for faculty and their more than 2.300 students.
AxisTV Signage Suite also provides conference and event schedules in real time at Visix Connect and EPS E Ink, digital systems installed at the entrance of classrooms and meeting spaces.
A unique interactive orientation design has also been made for the fifth building, the UNLV Lied Library, thanks to which students can extract event data from the university's event management system and show the availability of computer labs.
In addition, all interactive content in the Lied Library is tailored for mobile devices, allowing students to view maps and directories on their smartphones by scanning a QR code.
Migration and evolution of the network
As he points out Amy Buchanan, Sales Director of Visix, “all departments are in the process of transitioning from the previous AxisTV digital signage software to our current AxisTV Signage Suite platform”.
AxisTV Signage Suite software brings new advantages to installations “as strong video streaming support, better content design tools, touch interactivity and more efficient content creation workflows”, points out Buchanan.
To do this, the company is working with the university's IT team to migrate multiple departments to new hardware and software, including room reservation systems and multi-output digital signage players for videowalls.
In addition, the IT department of the UNLV has added five new digital signage players from Visix to its hosted server, and in the coming months the transition of the entire network of screens to axisTV signage software will be completed.
