A videowall Planar DirectLight X welcomes in the Plaza Coral Gables
In the lobby of the North Office Tower, of the Plaza Coral Gables urbanization in Florida, has installed a videowall planar DirectLight X6×6 metre, with a pixel pitch of 1,8 Mm (DLX1.8) and a configuration of 13×23.
Coral Gables Square is a Mediterranean-style urbanization located in the heart of downtown Coral Gables and is the largest mixed-use project in the history of the city of Miami.
It covers three city blocks and includes two office towers, a luxury apartment building of 17 plants, a Hotel Loews of 242 Rooms, 35 lofts/low-rise apartments and 49.377 square meters of commercial space, of restoration and leisure. The promoter Agave Ponce is building this project of 500 millions of dollars in overlapping phases with an expected completion date of August 2022.
The North Office Tower was completed at the end of 2020 and has become the new headquarters of Agave Ponce. The Ponce de León building, one of the main routes of Coral Gables, and the two-story ground floor lobby serves as an introduction to the entire development of Plaza Coral Gables.
As a defining feature of the North Tower, and the project as a whole, has been installed in the lobby a videowall Led Planar DirectLight X of almost 6×6 metre, with a pixel pitch of 1,8 Mm (DLX1.8) in a configuration of 13×23.
Installed by the audiovisual integrator Pro Sound & video, the videowall Led Planar DirectLight X is placed about two meters from the ground and extends almost to the ceiling of the lobby, to 1,5 meters from the ground. According to Chad Christensen, EDO of Agave Ponce, the led videowall sends a message to visitors: looking to make a difference.
“The Led videowall is very impressive, and makes it look like the building is unlike any other in the area. Represents what we bring in terms of premium office space, Hotels, residences and shops”, explains Christensen.
Pro Sound & Video worked with Planar, Agave Ponce and the architect of the building in the design of the videowall and installed the DirectLight X in the space, using a custom Draper mounting solution. “The videowall looks amazing in space”, comment Mark Wilson, Pro Sound account executive & video. "It is the most outstanding feature of the room, just magnificent".
Welcome equipment
The videowall Led Planar DirectLight X provides a convincing tool to generate dynamism in the lobby and boost occupancy in the North Tower. “We use it to welcome new and future tenants”, clarifies Christensen. “It lets them know that we understand how important it is to incorporate the latest technology into such an office building.”.
Coral Gables is known for its art scene and rich cultural history. From the moment the videowall was planned, one of Agave Ponce's main intentions was to use Planar DirectLight X as a digital canvas for art in public places.
“Art and culture are ingrained in the city process, and for us it was important to contribute to it”, states Christensen. “We plan to partner with the city and organize many events. Our goal is for the Led screen to serve as a community wall to present different forms of artwork and support local artists.”
Agave Ponce hired the company Blackdove, based in Miami and dedicated to digital art, to provide you with collections of video works that will be shown in the Led videowall. It also presents exclusive content and images from Mexico.
