WATCH Festival 2021 the cycle of immersive projections begins in September

The second edition of the cycle of immersive projections MIRA.mov ‘Exploring visual languages’ of WATCH Festival the next one will start 8 September, in the digital art center Ideal Barcelona.

MIRA.mov ‘Exploring visual languages’, the cycle of immersive projections of the Barcelona festival WATCH Festival 2021, will be held every Wednesday from next 8 September, with premieres and screenings curated specifically for the digital arts center Ideal.

The second edition of MIRA.mov maintains its base of showing contemporary digital culture through formats, innovative narratives and techniques, such as computer-created images (CGI), immersive audiovisuals, 3D digital animation, Etc.

This year, the MIRA.mov cycle starts a new circuit of exploration around digital creativity to show emerging and already consolidated artists working with moving images. It will have for this with the premieres of the studios Future Forward; Digo Studio; Most Dismal Swamp, and artists Eva Papamargariti and Powell.

To this are added the projects of the visual artist Theo Triantafyllidis in collaboration with the experimental musician Sun Araw; the virtual reality piece by the New York artist Jakobo Kudsk Steensen; the artist's semi-satirical animation puppets Sam Rolfes, and the surreal history of the American Cassie McQuater with original music by the pianist Kelly Moran.

The cycle will be held at Ideal, located in the Poblenou district of Barcelona and considered the first center in Southern Europe dedicated to the production and exhibition of digital arts, with more than 2.000 m2 of spaces, and of which MIRA is part of the artistic programming team.

The festival MIRA ¤ SON Estrella Galicia celebrate its tenth edition on days 12 and 13 November 2021, on the premises of Fabra i Coats.
