ClearOne Supplies AV Technology to UWCA Conference Rooms
In each of the five conference rooms, UWCA you have installed an AV solution of ClearOne integrated by the Converge Pro professional audio DSP platform 2, BMA CT microphone array board and Unite PTZ cameras.
United Way of Central Alabama (UWCA) meets frequently with a wide network of partners, corporate entities and other non-profit agencies to provide meaningful services to the community. Along with critical call centers, these meetings and services required high-level audiovisual technologies for the new UWCA expansion project of 12.192 square meters.
In search of a simple and easy-to-use AV system that produces optimal audio quality for your facilities, UWCA resorted to ClearOne to achieve a customized solution that would meet the needs of your conference rooms.
The nonprofit considered simplicity, ease of use, audio clarity and functionality of each potential system. ClearOne's solution best met these requirements.
For each of the five conference rooms, UWCA has installed an integrated audiovisual solution from ClearOne using the digital signal processing platform (Dsp) professional audio Converge Pro 2 with beam-forming microphone array ceiling plate (BMA CT) and horizontal and vertical motion cameras (PTZ) Unite high definition.
“We wanted a turnkey solution rather than a mix of components from different suppliers, and ensure ease of use”, explains Doug Goodwin, UWCA Vice President of Information Systems. “Some AV solutions are complex and require a lot of training to use. We wanted a system that would allow staff into a conference room, turn on the computer and make it work. We have a lot of meetings and it is important that everyone can use the system.”.
Converge Pro mixers 2 DSPs used in each conference room provide multiple inputs and outputs for microphones, speakers and control interfaces to meet the diverse audio needs in the UWCA, while providing scalability.
High-quality audio is achieved with acoustic echo cancellation technology (Aec) in each microphone input and feedback is removed with the algorithm Dare incorporated. The mixer also features a voice over IP interface (VoIP) Integrated, an important feature for the UWCA.
“We usually use Converge Pro 2 in rooms with more audio devices, like boardrooms, large presentation spaces and the like. They are also ideal for spaces that require specific VoIP phone capabilities. UWCA Uses Cisco Phone System with IP-Based Dialers for Conference Calls, which is another reason why we chose ClearOne mixers”, explains Andrew Clark, RCDD, owner of Continuity Consulting, full-service technology solutions provider and ClearOne partner responsible for the design and implementation of the technology for the new facility, including AV and IT systems.
Converge Pro 2 it's also optimized to work with ClearOne's BMA CTs that use Acoustic Intelligence technology to block a signal source for uncompromising audio quality, even when a speaker moves around the room.
New UWCA Conference Rooms Use ClearOne BMA CT Scans with Integrated AEC Technology, noise cancellation and beam selection.
BMA CT scans are easy to set up and deploy, and integrate seamlessly into the false ceiling for a clean, seamless look.
“In the last 10 to 15 years, we have experimented with various audiovisual solutions in our meeting rooms to identify the best solution”, adds Goodwin. “We opted for ClearOne mainly because its beam-forming microphones offer a more balanced sound throughout the room., no dead spots”.
They are also connected to the Converge Pro platform 2 Unite cameras 150 ClearOne HD PTZ with comprehensive 1080p video and 12x optical zoom to capture all participants in the conference room. Compatible with all conferencing apps used by UWCA, these cameras help to establish a fluid virtual communication.
“We have a long relationship with United Way here in Birmingham and wanted to make sure we were providing the most strategic and cost-effective AV solution.”, says Goodwin. “The ClearOne solution we deploy is of very high quality at a reasonable price: each component is well built, is reliable and easy to use”.
