Robe T1 Profile responds to the theatrical demands of the Schouwburg Kunstmin
For almost a decade, the theatre Schouwburg Kunstmin and room M3 of the Energiehuis have opted for the luminaires of Steal. now, the choice has focused on the T1 Profiles
Schouwburg Kunstmin is a theatre and performing arts venue located in Dordrecht (Holland), that has inverted the luminaires Robe T1 Profile, an energy-efficient equipment designed to meet the demands and precision of theatrical lighting.
The equipment was supplied by Robe's distributor in Benelux, Controllux, before the pandemic shut down the industry in March 2020. now, with the reopening the theater is looking to acquire more T1 lights to replace the aging 2K on the FOH bridge with a Led source.
The head of lighting, Bart Meester, and the technical and facilities manager, Martijn Lohuis, have been part of this latest investment by Robe.
In the Energiehuis, a building of a former power station redesigned and dedicated to culture and the arts, there is a space called M3, which is programmed and directed by the Schouwberg Kunstmin team. A set of T1 systems have been installed here, LEDWash 300+ and LEDBeam 150.
In addition, in other rooms and spaces of the Energiehuis there are several Robe equipment that have been supplied in recent years by Controllux.
The spectacular building of the Schouwburg Kunstmin Theatre, of neo-Renaissance style, dates from the decade of 1930, when what is the Main Hall was added, and is now a 'monument' protected as a National Heritage. Over the years it has undergone several renovations, the last of them 2012-14, which involved a major refurbishment and expansion of the production facilities and racks.
Normally, the Kunstmin, managed by an independent foundation and funded by the city of Dordrecht, presents a diversity of performances and shows, from bands with their own productions to dance and theater shows that are usually illuminated by themselves.
They also organize parties, conferences and corporate events for which the team typically provides the production system, as well as all creative technical skills.
They had some old moving lights before the eight Robe T1 Profiles and some LEDBeam 150 will arrive in 2019, but these needed to be replaced by something more modern and carbon conscious., so they looked for several options.
Bart and the team were using Robe products regularly on M3. Before the update of 2019 of that place, these were LEDWash 300 and 600E Spots which are still there supported by newer devices in the form of LEDWash 300+.
They were also seeing various Robe products more and more regularly at the Kunstmin with productions on tour and wanted to have their own teams..
The T1 Profiles were chosen primarily for the color gamut including the whites" in addition to the color mixing and shutter system.”, commented Erik, while for Bart another important factor is the zoom, as it was with LEDBeam 150 FW (Fresnel Wash) that were ordered at the same time. Zoom increases the versatility of LEDBeam 150, offering very smooth coverage with uniform edges and high color homogenization.
The price of LEDBeam 150 FW was also very attractive, so 16 of them joined the eight T1 Profiles for kunstmin's main hall, a stay of 752 Squares.
Having these new moving lights has facilitated faster construction and more efficient technical periods, That which, combined with the best light quality, has resulted in a visible improvement in the way productions are illuminated.
The lighting control of both Kunstmin and M3 in the Energiehuis is carried out by consoles GrandMA3 of MA Lighting.
