D&b audiotechnik introduces the compact in-line array XSL system
The new XLS developed by D&b audiotechnik is a total system solution that completes the SL Series family of this audio manufacturer.
the SL Series, the family of high-quality online arrangements developed by D&b audiotechnik, expands with the system XSL, which includes all the extensive functions of the range, ranging from excellent directivity control across the entire frequency band, Extended low-frequency performance up to Rigging complete, wiring and transport.
The XSL system includes specific versions for installations and for mobile applications on tours. XSLi, for permanent installations, is the best choice in places with a high dependence on the sharpness of the spoken word, along with the need for great power for a wide variety of shows.
The mobile version of XSL caters to the needs of the widest variety of touring applications. Both XSL and XSLi can be installed as a stand-alone system or as Delay or fill to accompany the models GSL and KSL.
The small dimensions of XSL do not prevent the incorporation of the SL Series feature set: active two-way design, one high SPL and an impressive pattern of cardioid dispersion throughout the low frequency range, for a much wider range of facilities and events. In addition, integrates seamlessly into the workflow D&b Workflow.
“The performance-to-size ratio of the XSL system is different from that of any product available in today's sound reinforcement market., and even in the offer of d&b -states Werner 'Vier' Bayer, company product manager.
For installation, control of the directivity of the system's frequency band “drastically improves the relationship of the live with the reverberant sound in spaces that acoustically are difficult.. In short, make room! For mobile applications, the little space it occupies and how it improves performance will be valued. It's a huge step., really awesome”.
Matthias Christner, Acoustic R&D Director at d&B, explains that “while working on the design of this product, we were a bit skeptical about whether we could achieve the distinctive directivity performance of the SL Series in such a compact format.. Now we're excited, a little amazed and very proud to see that it works so well. I think the quality, the dispersion and sharpness of sound offered by XSL will initiate the evolution we all expect in the future of smaller arrangements”.
Complete control of directivity
The persistent obsession of d&b with directivity makes the XSL system offer cardioid performance across the frequency spectrum, whose results are: fewer spills on open microphones on stage; improves the sharpness and impact of individual instruments; less accumulation of mid-range coloration in rooms, as well as in radio and television broadcasts and recordings.
With fewer stains from the main PA system to the stage, and behind the scenes, the creative experience of the performers is improved, while monitor engineers have more control, especially in medium to low frequencies.
XSL speakers achieve frequency band directivity using sl Series patented cardioid techniques to control low frequency dispersion.
The optimal sound performance and sharpness of the XSL system are achieved thanks to this exclusive pattern control, which is further improved by&b Enabling that makes this possible and that includes the manufacturer's ArrayProcessing software.
More power, less consumption
The family of amplifiers d&B, which includes the models 40D of installation and D40 Mobile App, are designed to deliver the power needed for the manufacturer's high-efficiency systems.
The D 40D/D40 devices of four channels and Class D include advanced voltage management to contribute to the d range&b energy efficiency of up to 50%, with zero performance waivers, according to data provided by the company.
XSLi installation systems, together with the 40D amplifier specific for installations will begin to be distributed in the market next October. The mobile XSL package will be marketed in January 2022.
