LG OLED reimagines digital art in the retail world
In the flagship store of Peaches in D8NE have been installed 39 Panels Lg 65" OLED. These exhibit immersive digital artworks created in collaboration with five artists.
LG OLED is a canvas to reimagine the art world and the company has collaborated with different artists and styles to bring to life a multimedia art campaign powered by its screens. With the title OLED Art Wave: Every Wave You Will Sense, the exhibition has been held in D8NE, the flagship store of Peaches in Seoul.
D8NE is a cultural space designed for a young and modern audience, both for car and fashion fans as well as for lovers of music and gastronomy.
In this project LG Display has combined OLED technology with digital art, reality with imagination. The company installed a total of thirty-nine panels of 65 inches in different areas of D8NE, including a garage, a lounge, a bar and even a skating rink to showcase immersive digital art created in collaboration with five local and global artists.
For both artists and amateurs, OLED technology opens a door to unlimited possibilities with its design flexibility and cutting-edge technology. It allows to create masterpieces expressed as the artists intended them.
Classic and OLED cars
Classic cars are shown in the garage, sports and the immersive graphic art of OLED panels. Petrichor of Sinae Yoo resembles a futuristic car audio system, while an OLED display plays a video to take the immersive experience to a whole new level.
For its part, the artist Heemin Chung uses multiple screens to show the audience every aspect of a motion chart in their work of Material Matters.
"For this exhibition, I did what I always wanted to do, create high-resolution motion graphics. After seeing for myself the impact that OLED clarity and precision can have on my work, I became convinced of its potential to offer any artist's perspective or work of art as close to perfection as possible.”.
Skating rink
At the entrance of the Skatepark (skate park) visitors can see the artistic collaboration between LG Display and Peaches.
A total of nine panels of 65 inches cover the roof over the stairs leading to this rooftop area, showing immersive artwork.
The digital art video titled Infinite Dreams plays on walls where five additional OLED panels are installed.
"With this exhibition, we set out to create an out-of-this-world experience that Gen Z and Millennials could really appreciate., as they have a great knowledge of digital and offline experiences. And with OLED, we can maximize real and virtual experiences".
The lounge
In the rest room (lounge) five OLED screens are separated from 65 Inch. They present the work entitled Souvenir (You can't save now – You can't save now) _01_F of the digital artist Ram Han, who likes to emphasize the importance of technology in their art.
"I've always liked working with light because it can express what conventional ink can't.. The source of different shades of light and textures comes from the technology I use to create my art.. Transparency, slim bezels and OLED technology let my imagination run wild with all sorts of soft colors, gradations and images at my disposal”..
The Unknown World , created by the artist Buttercup, is another piece that exemplifies the color accuracy and image quality of OLED within the living room. By depicting a fantasy world through three themes (Poison, Purify and Heal), the author leverages the excellence of OLED to create an image of such high quality that it is simply impossible to recreate with an LCD screen.
Art in the bar
At the bar, visitors can see the work of the American conceptual artist Jacolby Satterwhite. His work, We are in hell when we hurt ourselves, uses trusses to create a frame for six OLED displays, which he uses as a canvas to extend his art to the digital sphere.
Through OLED Art Wave: Every Wave You Will Sense, artists have chosen this technology as a canvas for their works. Modern multimedia art requires the most advanced devices and technologies to date to ensure masterpieces come to life, and OLED provides the perfect solution.
