Dish Network installs ClearOne collaboration teams at its headquarters
The ceiling plate with BMA microphone arrangement 360 and Unite cameras 200 PTZ of ClearOne are the systems chosen by Dish Network to improve audio and videoconferencing capabilities in the meeting spaces of four of its U.S. locations.
Considered the largest pay-TV provider in the United States offering direct-broadcast satellite service, Dish Network has equipped several of its largest conference rooms with audio and video capture solutions from ClearOne.
As he explains David Sayer, DISH videoconferencing and AV engineer, four buildings and their company meeting spaces located in Colorado (Us.) now have smart ceiling plates BMA 360 Beamforming Microphone Array (BMA-CT) and cameras Unite 200 PTZ of ClearOne as the best solution to achieve this.
“Remote collaboration is a growing trend, says Sayer., and technologies available today from manufacturers like ClearOne have dramatically improved reliability, the quality and effectiveness of virtual meetings. With BMA-CT microphones and PTZ Unite cameras 200 we guarantee an audio and video coverage of the 100% in our largest rooms, up to two hundred people”.
The smart features of each device, including the automatic beam formation in the microphones and the zoom with remote control for cameras “They provide a foolproof collaboration environment that has generated unanimous praise among employees”, underlines this engineer.
Quality and reliability
At the company's corporate headquarters in Englewood (Colorado), all larger conference and meeting rooms use ClearOne-based systems, virtually identical for virtual meetings.
Each space uses up to three ceiling-installed BMA-CT and two Unite cameras 200 for video capture, along with units Converge Pro 2 128 with VOIP built-in and advanced noise cancellation algorithms.
In addition to increasing audio quality and reliability during your video collaborations, the new system design has also freed the company from the expensive codec subscriptions required by the previous system..
Sayer was inclined to maintain the VOIP-based operations to which they were accustomed., but with greater control, easier configuration and universal compatibility with all collaboration platforms, like Meet, Teams, WebEx and Zoom.
“At our headquarters, where each conference room is named after a local colorado mountain or region, we are using projectors and Led screens high-end ranging from 55″ up to 98″ to display ultra-sharp images of our virtual counterparts”, Sayer points out.
In this sense and with the aim that each virtual meeting is developed optimally “ClearOne microphones and cameras offer the same high-level performance as our displays.. When two hundred people or more gather in a virtual session, every minute it takes to set up or troubleshoot your computer is a major waste. With the new team, That doesn't happen.”.
Technological and aesthetic integration
In addition to improvements in quality and ease of use, BMA-CT microphones have also improved the aesthetics of each room. Since they mimic a standard ceiling plate, in which all electronic components are above the ceiling, can be placed anywhere that provides optimal coverage without sacrificing space design.
Three of the largest conference rooms have, each, three BMA-CTs to ensure that audio can be picked up clearly and quickly at any point due to the system's intelligent beamforming, directs microphone sensitivity to the current speaker's location.
Interaction with the system is very simple thanks to a control system with touch screen interfaces that help program the room, to launch the meeting and respond to other critical meeting needs.
“As a market benchmark in an industry focused on technology, DISH Network has to demonstrate that it understands the latest tools and standards when presenting itself to its partners and customers.. Although ensuring a high-quality presentation is a fundamental necessity, we also help them remain flexible by enabling both VOIP-based and USB-based audio to meet the protocols of any conferencing platform.”, explains the president and CEO of ClearOne, Zee Hakimoglu.
Each room uses two different computers, in coordination with the Converge Pro system 2, to offer the dual audio option in order to optimize calls through the chosen platform and any other that a provider or external partner uses.
Looking to the future, Sayer plans to continue designing and installing meeting room systems with ClearOne solutions, including the smallest. “The customer service and support we receive from ClearOne has proven that the company is dedicated to ensuring our success, and not simply to sell us products. That gives us peace of mind that every meeting will run smoothly and that every room will perform consistently for years to come.”.
