Symetrix Brings Audio Clarity to Mobile Courtrooms

The AV System Integrator Atlantic Video Corporation has installed the touch screen terminals Symetrix Radius NX 12×8 DSP and T-5 Glass as part of the upgrade of municipal courtrooms in Mobile (Alabama – USA. USA).

The project is based on the renovation of the AV systems of the three municipal courtrooms located in the so-called Government Plaza of the North Tower of the US city of Mobile, in South Alabama, and hardware, instalado cuando se construyó, in the year 1994.

Audio quality and management

The integrator selected a Symetrix Radius NX 12×8 to manage audio throughout the courtroom, with automatic mixing and a dual-core AEC module optional ensures maximum intelligibility.

Symetrix Radius NX 12×8 routes audio to three zones: the top bench, served by three hanging speakers Sonance PS-P43T, and the lower bench and gallery, each equipped with six speakers of the same type. The DSP's USB audio port also allows you to capture eight channels of audio to USB.

Like always scarce rack space, Crumbley replaced the eighteen rack units occupied by the existing DSP unit and multichannel amplifier with the slim Symetrix Radius NX 1U, along with an amplifier Powersoft Mezzo 604A half rack unit.

Although it is designed for non-intervention operation whenever possible, the system offers intuitive and optimized audio control through a pair of Symetrix touchscreen terminals.

Crumbley drew on the expertise of Richard Hembree, manager of Griffith Sales Associates, to design the optimal user interface for the system. Leveraging the technology of creating GUI SymVue by Symetrix, could create, test and simulate different page layouts and custom controls before deployment on touch screens.

DSP Solution

El Tribunal Municipal de Mobile se ocupa de delitos menores, algunos de los cuales pueden dar lugar a una sentencia de cárcel, por lo que todos los implicados deben escuchar las pruebas con claridad. El antiguo sistema no permitía un sonido tan claro y nítido como ahora. Tampoco teníamos la capacidad para el testimonio virtual o para compartir las pruebas electrónicamente”.
