The University of Dakar bets on Arec for medical simulation
In the medical simulation center of the University of Dakar media station ls-300 has been installed, as well as the CI-T21H cameras and the A-VC01 VersaCam.
the University of Dakar has equipped more than a dozen practical operating rooms with the technology of Arec, brand that distributes Avit Vision, for recording, streaming and viewing of medical and educational content.
LCS Technodidac designed with Arec a multifunctional practical recording and live broadcast surgery room that the university now uses to train Senegal's future medical workers.
The University of Dakar or Cheikh Anta Diop is one of the largest higher education institutions in Senegal and West Africa, with some 60.000 enrolled students. It is known for the diversity of its programs, which include several medical disciplines.
This year, decided to improve the training facilities for aspiring surgeons and announced a tender to equip more than a dozen practical surgery rooms with audiovisual technology for recording, transmission and display of medical and educational content.
The main element of the installed Arec solution is the Media Station LS-300, a three-channel device capable of mixing, alternate, record, transmit and back up all audio and video material.
One of the characteristics that define this station is its comfort of use. Users can control the system in the way that is most convenient for them.
In the case of medical students of the simulation center, your preferred form of control is through the interactive graphical user interface or GUI for short. This method allows students to access all the main functions, including changing designs, live video editing, the start of recording and streaming, taking snapshots, exporting complete videos to USB drives and even allows them to control the PTZ movement of cameras with a standard computer mouse.
As for the video sources for the station, the university uses automatic tracking cameras CI-T21H. These are professional PTZ cameras with infrared tracking technology. This ensures that users do not have to operate the cameras manually.
To offer a different perspective, sometimes one of the cameras is changed by the A-VC01 VersaCam, an HDMI and USB camera with automatic framing and 4K mode. Depending on conference requirements, medical lessons are recorded from a connected computer or medical devices directly.
Having met expectations, the University plans to install Arec systems in other facilities of the medical department.
