Innovae and UEM create XR Lab, the extended reality training laboratory
XR Lab born with the aim of creating, evaluate and research virtual reality teaching resources, increased and mixed for the students of the EMU.
Innovate has participated in the creation of XR Lab (eXtended Reality Lab), the extended reality laboratory of the European University (EMU), aimed at developing didactic resources based on virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality.
These technologies revolutionize pedagogical dynamics, promoting and stimulating learning through interactive content. The immersive experience of a virtual simulation allows to recreate real situations and accurately evaluate the abilities of the students, while you have the opportunity to put your theoretical knowledge into practice.
The benefits of the virtual reality application in training include carrying out risky processes in complete safety, have greater autonomy, reduce learning times and save on costs. likewise, allows to optimize the understanding of knowledge thanks to the immersive and interactive aspect, learning up to four times faster than in a conventional classroom.
The commitment of the students is also favored, being 3,75 times more emotionally connected to content. It is a method that maximizes the effectiveness of education, increasing the user's motivation by being able to apply their theoretical knowledge in realistic environments. In fact, student confidence increases by a 275% by applying what has been learned when done in virtual reality environments.
The XR Lab was born with the aim of creating, evaluate and research virtual reality teaching resources, increased and mixed for EMU students. Together with the teaching staff of different degrees, focuses on developing innovative learning resources that optimize students' knowledge retention, increasing your motivation and satisfaction.
Thanks to the initiative, students have the opportunity to develop transversal and specific competences in completely safe environments, immersive and simulated. EMU is thus a pioneer in actively applying technologies in university education and in promoting digital transformation in the classroom.
VR-based training
With the aim of encouraging this change, Innovae and EMU worked on a total of 7 training capsules based on virtual reality, what are VR Teacher, Put Yourself in My Shoes, Here be Dragons, Crime Scene Investigation, Patient Safety through Gamification and some more pending projects in the field of preoperative and dentistry.
The capsules allow you to create training experiences in virtual reality for all types of areas, in this case for university careers in Education, Sciences, Medicine and Health, Criminology, Law and Engineering.
Innovae has acted as a partner of XR Lab for the creation of the training capsules, both as a technology provider and providing advisory service throughout the process, working alongside EMU teachers who run XR Lab to advise on content and more technical aspects. Their participation ranges from the initial conceptualization to the continuous improvement of the contents, and supposes an integral accompaniment in the elaboration of the laboratory.
The project carried out between Innovae and EMU marks an innovative advance in education and training, taking advantage of virtual reality, augmented and blended to offer students an enhanced and more effective learning experience. The results obtained have led to silvering, in the future the creation of multi-user and immersive training capsules, adding more functionalities to projects for constant improvement. In addition to extending them to more topics or areas, so that students of all types of university degrees can boost their learning processes.
