Elation offers a powerful IP65 light beam with Proteus Excalibur
Designed to be the new reference reflector of Elation, the Proteus Excalibur mobile luminaire offers an IP65 light beam of up to 200.000 lux to 20 meters away.
Excalibur is the most recent luminaire of the Proteus range of Elation, which features a long-range beam and wide front aperture to create aerial light columns, sweeping beams, CMY and FX color launches that rival existing xenon reflectors on the market.
From Elation they point out that “is able to create effects “as magical as its legendary namesake, Proteus Excalibur“, so it is indicated for application in theme parks, Cruises, special outdoor events, Shows, Concerts, Etc. where a massive beam or very powerful binocular and floral effects are required.
This full-beam luminaire with IP65 protection produces incredible light output of up to 200.000 lux to 20 metre away (7.500 lux to 100 metre) from a compact body.
the light beam of only 0.8° by Proteus Excalibur, that competes with current xenon projectors and sky trackers, ensures that the luminaire ‘passes through’ the sky effortlessly and be visible at great distances. For this it is projected from an ultra-wide front lens of 260 mm as a huge column of solid light, like a lighthouse.
Design options
A wide range of range of gobos (eight interchangeables and a seventeen-position static wheel) and overlapping prisms (four- and eight-faceted) allow a wide variety of dynamic animations of the sky that add excitement and attract attention to any event, allowing Excalibur to perform impressive air shows without the need for an external DMX controller.
Proteus Excalibur offers a complete blend of CMY colors, plus fourteen colors Dichroic, including CTO and UV. With this great intensity of light, all CMY colors remain solid and vibrant, even when they are fully saturated.
Control of the beam through a precise focus lens internal provides crisp projection, no optical errors. The double variable frost allows to soften the beam when necessary and a expander lens with remote control extends the beam up to, approximately, 3,5º for an even more complete look.
Flex lamp efficiency
Elation Proteus Excalibur uses the technology of Flex lamps of Philips to achieve a long service life, lower energy consumption and maintenance of the installation. Discharge lamp/ballast package produces a very high output for such a compact luminaire, while performance remains economical, with a lamp life of until 4.000 hours.
Philips Platinum 500 Flex (550 W) is adjustable through the internal ballast, that not only adjusts the lamp electronically, but offers a hibernation mode that reduces the power of the same when not in use, with the consequent lower energy consumption, in addition to prolonging the service life of all components thanks to less internal heat.
Excalibur supports DMX protocols, RDM, Art-NET and sACN, in addition to equipping the professional characteristics and IP65 connections of an Elation Proteus luminaire.
