SNA Displays advances the installation of the largest Led screen on the West Coast
Located across from the Los Angeles Convention Center, on the façade of the mixed-use tower of the Moxy and AC hotels, the huge Led screen of SNA Displays, a digital canvas of more than 1.393 m2 that curves around the building, has a pixel pitch of 8 Mm.
The installation of the gigantic Led screen of SNA Displays on the façade of the new Moxy Hotel and AC, of 37 plants, is taking shape in downtown Los Angeles and adds to the one the company has mounted on top of the building. The Reef, of 12 plants, and which until now was the largest digital canvas on the West Coast, with 9.290 square meters.
The new screen is being mounted in front of the Los Angeles Convention Center, in the multipurpose enclosure Crypto.com Arena – LA. Live (formerly Staples Center), in a mixed-use tower of 37 plants and more than 55.741 m2 which houses a Moxy hotel, divided into one of 380 rooms and another 347 of AC, with meeting rooms, restaurants (one on the floor 34 with panoramic views of the Los Angeles skyline) and leisure spaces that aims to become a cultural and entertainment center of the city that will be inaugurated this year.
The consultant Consumer Experience Group (CEG), based in Los Angeles for experiential exhibition projects, is managing the static and digital signage elements of this development, property Lightstone.
Built from the outdoor range Empire of SNA Displays, the new Led screen will wrap an above-ground parking structure on six levels, setting up a continuous video system of more than 1.393 m2, that curves around the façade of the building.
Despite its size, the screen has a pixel pitch adjusted from 8 Mm, allowing you to offer close to 22 millions of pixels in a Led system of 15,2 meters high, similar to the length of a football field.
"Moxy and AC Hotels required precise system management to ensure that all primary and secondary support steel was installed correctly," he explains. Rasool Sayed, SNA Displays Project Manager-. The assembly of this project is unique, as there are only two massive substructures; the lower one has more than 8,5 meters high. Being able to custom fabricate every element of the radius and minimize the number of selections on site allowed us to avoid traffic shutdowns in busy downtown Los Angeles., and the huge secondary frames resulted in less alignment of the seams on the façade".
Despite this challenge, that had to be delayed by the pandemic, "We have been able to get ahead of our deadlines," Sayed emphasizes.. SNA's daily reporting management has helped us coordinate the project accurately, ensuring that everything is carefully adjusted from the design and engineering stage to the installation and alignment of each pixel".
SNA Displays has become a benchmark in the downtown area of Los Angeles with the installation of impressive Led screens for digital outdoor advertising in emblematic buildings, which some already call the West Coast Times Square, to which are added the projects carried out in New York's Times Square (more details on Digital AV).
