Genelec expands the Smart IP series with the new 4410 and the Controller application

The range of speaker systems for Smart IP installation of Genelec now adds the super compact model 4410 to accommodate more applications and room sizes, as well as the IP Controller application that offers the end user greater management.

The new one 4410 joins models 4420 and 4430 of the range for installation Smart IP from the manufacturer of professional audio monitors Genelec, while the free app Controller provides the end user with instant control of the main functions of the speaker system, such as silencing, volume control and on/off, in addition to the general management of the areas.

The range of Smart IP speakers, which was presented on the market in 2019, combines optimal sound quality with the utility of a single cable that provides scalable power, audio signal and control functions through a standard CAT cable.

All models from the Genelec Smart IP range, brand that markets Audio-Technica, offer great coverage, clarity and intelligibility; are compatible with both dante as with AES67 and accept feed through feed formats on Ethernet, Poe and PoE+.

With only 181 mm height, the active two-way monitor 4410 fits perfectly into smaller spaces, although its own internal power supply is capable of generating impressive 100 Db sound pressure level.

Genelec 4410 supports up to eight channels of audio in a signal stream with sample rates between 32 and 96 khz, and a resolution of 16 to 24 Bit, with a frequency response of 67 Hz to 40 khz. The stages of internal amplification Class D power a 3" bass unit and a 3/4-inch treble metal dome.

Created in collaboration with the industrial designer Harri Koskinen, the model's aesthetic minimal diffraction enclosure 4410 is made of recycled aluminium and uses the waveguide for the directivity control, devised by Genelec, to ensure accuracy and clarity both on and off axis.

Built to the highest environmental standards in Iisalmi (Finland), The new one 4410 is available in white or black finishes, to which it adds a wide range of accessories for quick and easy installation almost anywhere.

In addition to receiving power and audio over IP, the only RJ45 connector on the rear panel of the 4410 also allows access to the software Smart IP Manager by Genelec, a sophisticated downloadable tool that runs on Windows 10 and which allows installers to configure an almost unlimited number of rooms, Areas, speakers and audio channels.

This software also includes device detection, a versatile set of room equalization tools, system organization and health monitoring.

Once the installer has used Smart IP Manager to configure and optimize the system, the end user can download the free Smart IP Controller app on mobile phone or tablet (iOS or Android) to instantly control mute, volume and on and off.

The Controller app automatically finds speakers on the network and offers a clean and intuitive user interface, that both experts and non-technical staff will find simple.

Access to some or all of the zones created during setup can be assigned to the application, thus ensuring that appropriate levels of access are granted to each end user.
