The subsidiary of Salzgitter AG, Telcat, has created a control room from which the security of the company's production facilities is controlled. A video wall of AG Neovo is the main tool that guarantees it.

Salzgitter AG is one of the largest steel producers in Central Europe. Located in Germany, it has close to 25.000 employees, produces almost 7 million tons of steel per year and generates 7.000 million euros in sales.

Factory facilities and production sites have very high safety requirements. That is why, at the end of 2021 a new control room was put into service in the contact center of the Telcat subsidiary.

The system's central unit integrates a video wall with a 3×3 layout, Configured with 9 Screens PN-55D2 AG Neovo, in addition to having modern supports from the VWM Easy to maintain. Six workstations can operate the connected system 24 hours of the day.

Project start-up

Telcat and VuWall defined the requirements for high-quality video wall management systems at the cooperation meetings. A processor was calculated and configured VuScape VS120, with VuWall management software2, for Telcat's existing server rack. It has 12 Display port outputs and 4 HDMI inputs.

The 12 outputs service all nine displaysPN-55D2, as well as several AG Neovo PD Series wall monitors, located in the adjacent room through an image splitter. The 4 inputs are used for two internal monitoring systems, using the video management software of Avigilon and the BKS risk management system/Ela-Soft.

The global system is rounded off by an AG Neovo TX-10 as a control panel located in the center of the room and displaying the freely configurable VuWall2 control panel for the display of individual images on the video wall.

Andreas Kath and his team took care of the complex installation and technical preparations. Details such as the load-bearing capacity of the wall or the importance of the mounting plates on the back of the wall screens had to be taken into account.
