Daktronics expands its factories to meet the demand for Led screens
The current expansion project, that ends this summer, double the production capacities of Daktronics for SMD product lines and create employment opportunities at all manufacturer locations.
As demand in the audiovisual market continues to increase, Daktronics is betting on increasing its production capacity in multiple locations, including duplication of surface mount Led product lines (Smd).
Reece Kurtenbach, President and CEO of Daktronics, "Meeting customer demand is a function of both our in-house manufacturing capabilities and the ability to keep the global component supply chain stable.. We are taking steps now to address our manufacturing capacity by adding more spaces, machinery and personnel. Although the supply chain of components for displays remains dynamic and volatile, our teams work very hard to collaborate with existing and new suppliers to source the components we need to meet customer expectations”.
The company's current expansion project, that ends this summer, double Daktronics' production capabilities for SMD product lines and create employment opportunities at all manufacturer locations. The project will increase production space at the Brookings plant with 8.360 square meters.
“Planned improvements and expansions will cover multiple markets and Led product lines, but they will also create the need for workers in our factories”, adds Kurtenbach. “We are excited to see the positive impact our business has on both our customers and the communities in which we operate as we move forward.”.
In Sioux Falls (South Dakota) and Redwood Falls (Minnesota), Daktronics is creating and reinforcing indoor and outdoor SMD product lines to meet the growing demand for LED solutions with this technology.
The Brookings factory is expanding its sheet metal machining processes with the addition of four new laser drilling machines, cut, bending and welding. These improvements double the current production of chassis and display cabinets for NPP product lines (high resolution).
In addition, Daktronics factories in Ennistymon (Ireland) and Shanghai (China) increase their production capacities for SMD Led product lines, as the company serves customers in markets around the world.
“We expect the future of audiovisual systems to grow and we will continue to invest to offer the best possible solutions to our customers.. That's why, we expect our investment to be approximately 25 million dollars for the fiscal year 2022, including manufacturing expenses to improve production and capacity, as well as investments in quality and reliability equipment and continued investments in infrastructure", concludes Kurtenbach.
