APG MC2C speakers provide the soundtrack to the Bayeux Aquatic Center
Twelve compact satellite speakers APG MC2C offer high intelligibility in the Auréo aquatic center of Bayeux. These have been installed in the recreational pool, in sports and in the area of well-being.
Music Light selected for Auréo a total of 12 column speakers APG MC2C.It is an aquatic center that combines several swimming pools with a wellness area of 515 square meters composed of saunas, a jacuzzi, a salt cave and a balneotherapy pool. with 2.300 m² of surface area and a value of 12,6 millions of euros, this complex is the only municipal swimming pool that serves the almost 15.000 inhabitants of the district, after the closure of the previous Bayeux swimming pool a year earlier.
When it was time to update the audiovisual system of the aquatic center, as the previous installation had not met expectations, the Bayeux Town Hall selected local system integrator Music Light, collaborator of Bayeux and APG . "We have already equipped several Bayeux locations with APG., so our client had references and knew the quality of the products that were proposed to him», Says Gaëtan Potier, Ceo of Music Light.
After carrying out a technical and acoustic study, Music Light selected for Auréo a total of 12 APG MC2C column speakers, facility-specific, and have been located in three zones: four in the recreational pool, six in sports and two in the wellness area.
Music Light works with APG from 2010 and the company was able to build on previous experiences to address the more complicated aspect of the Auréo installation: the high temperature and high humidity that characterize indoor pools.
To resolve this issue, "coated the housings with stainless steel fittings to ensure the products would not deteriorate in the coming years", potier explains. "Some time ago we equipped a stadium with MC2 speakers following the same process and until today they have all worked without maintenance".
Potier explains that he chose the MC2 series both for its versatility., as it is perfectly suitable for a wide range of applications, as for its innovative design, that uses the principle D’Appolito to allow directivity control without the need for a horn. This makes it one of the most efficient products in its category., especially for vocal applications and for low power distributed sound.
"The MC2 speakers are very suitable for social spaces, sports and cultural. The wide range of models makes them perfect for different areas", comments Potier, "also thanks to the option to make them IP55, on a line of 100 V, with a custom RAL color. D'Appolito design provides listening comfort and high intelligibility in a wide range of uses, both musical and vocal, with or without connection to a subwoofer".
Matthieu Barey, director of the Centre aquatique Auréo, says that a cinematic event ‘Aquaciné‘ Recent was the demonstration of the strengths of the new sound system.
"The directivity of the speakers is just as spectacular.. We can have the volume high for one class in one pool while in another a different playlist sounds for a workout or another class., without the slightest crossover of audio content. It is possible to easily talk to each other around the pools and the staff no longer have to use portable speakers.".
The audiovisual equipment that was used for the Auréo project also includes a wireless system Shure QlX-D and an audio array Rane Terminal 1010x. Amplification is courtesy of a Powersoft Quattrocanali 4804 DSP+D, that controls the speakers through the line of 100 V and the ArmoníaPlus program with which the amplification is controlled.
