DAS Audio Lara: first self-amplified and cardioid line array on the market

The Spanish manufacturer DAS Audio has taken advantage of its participation in recent European fairs, how Ise 2022, to present your lara line array, after conducting a test program with some of the most important sound engineers in the industry.

After a preview of the system in Miami (Us.) last March with FOH engineers, sound technicians, distributors and customers, DAS Audio has officially shown Lara, the first line array self-powered and four-way cardioid on the market, during his participation in Prolight + Sound 2022 in Frankfurt (more details on Digital AV) and, just a few days ago, in Ise 2022 in Barcelona.

The Lara system "raises the brand's commitment to technology and promises to become a benchmark in the market", point from the company. To this is also added the presentation of Alma, your new system control and monitoring software created by and for sound engineers. This has been assured, among other experts, Yamil Martinez, FOH by Luis Fonsi: "it is a product that will be in many Riders. You are going to mark a before and after for DAS Audio".

Lara has a performance of 146 Linear dB SPL Max and a large dynamic range, especially suitable for large events. Thanks to the cardioid design achieves attenuation in the subsequent radiation of the 15 dB in the range of 63 Hz – 200 hz, which in addition to helping the artists on stage, reduces noise pollution generated by any type of live event.

Consumption efficiency is another point in favor of Lara. Class D amplifiers Powersoft integrate switched power supply, with power correction factor (PFC), ensuring maximum performance and efficiency regardless of mains voltage.

Each set provides a total of 6.000 Power Wrms, divided into eight channels, to feed the 2×12" and two compression motors; all 2×8" front and all 2×8" rear. All Lara components have been custom designed and manufactured to maximize system efficiency, which incorporates two 12" bass speakers with 4" coil, plus another two 8" in cardioid configuration.

To cover the mid-frequency range use two other 8" speakers with 2.5" coils. The high-frequency section consists of two compression motors DAS M-78N, with 3" coils and a waveguide with 100º horizontal coverage.

The system of Rigging of three points is another of its advantages, that serves both Lara and Lara Sub, allowing hanging arrays up to twenty-four and sixteen units, respectively. FSSTM angulation system helps adjust angles in 1st steps, from 0º to 7º from the stacking position, significantly reducing assembly time.

In the final phase of development, both system and software, DAS Audio carried out a testing program with some of the most important sound engineers in Spain, who collaborated in the optimization of the new tools.

The team has already managed to close several tours and festivals in Spain. It has officially premiered at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne (Germany) the past day 30 April, as well as simultaneously the past 14 of May at the Estopa concerts in Barcelona, and Izal in La Coruña, as part of their respective tours in Spain.
