Vitec provides the IPTV and video distribution system in the PSV Eindhoven
The IPTV-based AV installation project in the Dutch venue Philips Stadion, of the club PSV Eindhoven, has been made by Vitec (before Exterity), in cooperation with Mansveld and the advice of Intronics, together with the system integrator Axians.
the IPTV system (Internet protocol television) of Vitec (before Exterity, more data in Digital AV) works at full capacity in Philips Stadion, with video content that is now distributed to more than two hundred connection points of this manufacturer distributed throughout the enclosure of the PSV Eindhoven, one of the biggest football clubs in the Netherlands, with the capacity to 35.000 people.
With facilities that allow you to offer all kinds of events, one of the objectives of the project, carried out in cooperation with Mansveld and with the advice of Intronics, together with the system integrator Axians, has been to offer fans the best viewing of matches and events.
"PSV Eindhoven is one of the biggest clubs in the Netherlands and we needed state-of-the-art infrastructure., which includes AV coverage of the action in the field and offering top quality services to our fans, staff and visitors, he explains Roy Smits, ICT manager of the stadium-. We have worked with Vitec, Intronics and Axians to deploy the first large-scale IP video installation in a Dutch stadium".
To do this, PSV Eindhoven put out to tender a high-quality audiovisual solution for the stadium, as well as for the field and training facilities. The ability of Vitec technology to create multiple portals, as well as its ease of installation were crucial to choose this proposal.
The deployed IPTV system offers television content to two hundred points distributed around the facility over the existing IP network. Encoders AvediaStream of Vitec are used to encode the internal media sequences of the stadium, as well as live match sequences from mobile stations.
In addition, Receivers AvediaPlayer are responsible for connecting any television screen to the existing IP network. System control is based on Vitec AvediaServer, a powerful IP video management system that also acts as a platform on which you can create custom channels and adapt them for distribution to the different endpoints of the venue.
the middleware Artio is used to personalize the viewing experience in each box and in the business room of the enclosure, allowing for greater customization of the corporate guest environment. The AvediaServer system also offers a VoD catalog (video on demand) to play assets through custom-built channels, which may include media room graphics.
This large-scale audiovisual project (more data in Digital AV) required the collaboration of multiple experts to ensure that all components of the system were effectively integrated and offered the best possible experience, both fans and visitors as well as the staff of the sports venue.
While IT specialist and system integrator Axians and connectivity solution developer and solution provider Intronics ensured the realization of the project, Mansveld installed the hardware. This collaboration allowed to execute a perfect performance during a live test and without prior notice of the system, with all encoders at maximum bit rate.
"The flexibility of the system was key to helping us modernize the video facilities throughout the stadium," says Smits.. Allows our staff to control each screen individually from a central system, ensuring that every piece of content reaches the right end point, so that visitors, fans and staff can see the most relevant action for them.".
This ability to access and control all content centrally "has streamlined our video capabilities.", and the incorporation of the solution means that we can now serve our fans with quality and personalized services to different areas of the stadium - points out the stadium manager.. Even to the training facilities, which helps coaches and players improve their skills and tactics.".
