Vioso brings immersive projection to create life-size maps

The architecture studio Plan Live uses advanced projection technology from Vioso to offer their clients a full-scale vision of their dream home.

We arranged a demo at our Düsseldorf office and were quickly convinced that we were the right company to help them achieve their vision”.

Plan Live wanted a simple solution to show their clients the house plans they had designed, that had the ability to upload new content, Change projected plans in real-time and control the entire system with a simple touch on a tablet.

To power the system, Servant and his team specified a media server Anystation Media Octo, with wide-angle calibration kit, and the system Vioso Camera, that allows Plan Live to easily combine projectors, with Vertex Managing all content playback.

"Our software is the heart of the system," says Servant: Manage content playback; Performs audio show control, lights and projectors, and provides the customer with a graphical interface to work with the system.".

For the Vioso director, The most challenging aspect of the project was related to the requirement to reproduce floor plans exactly as in real life. "As the idea is to project plans on the floor to scale 1:1, We had to provide extreme precision for mixing and deforming the contents: A meter on the plane should be exactly one meter on the floor.".

This was possible thanks to the Core software by Vioso, whose latest version includes a system of 3D calibration Advanced and easy to use, with perfect pixel distribution. Using Core, The team of this company referred to "measurements and markers on the ground that allowed us to ensure a perfect scale of 1:1”, Servant points out.

After calibration with Vioso Core, the team created a presentation program in Vertex and the touch interface for the tablet, in addition to providing Plan Live with training on how to get the most out of the new system.

"We love big pictures and big projection, it is always fun to walk on a large projection surface," Servant stresses. Going over a house plan and playing with fake furniture to create the feeling of actually being in the house is amazing. The experience is really impressive".
