Merced College creates HyFlex rooms with Biamp TesiraForté

The school has installed conference systems in more than one hundred classrooms to create Hyflex environments for face-to-face and remote students. For this you have used the solution Biamp TesiraForté X 400.

Founded in 1962, The American College Merced College. located in the Californian city of the same name has decided to implement a solution, technology-based Biamp TesiraForté, to ensure that classes did not have to be only face-to-face but at a distance.

When the pandemic accelerated this decision, The platform they had worked as an interim measure but they realized that they needed a more complete solution to create rooms HyFlex (acronym for flexible hybrid education) that offered face-to-face and remote students an equally good learning experience.

To obtain the results expected by the university, it was necessary to equip 115 classrooms with robust conferencing systems including microphones, Speakers, cameras and screens.

With two Parle ceiling microphones, Four ceiling speakers Desono C-IC6, TesiraForté X 400 and cables Cat 5 needed to connect them all together, has been equipped with everything you need for a large conference room.

Another key factor to bet on this system has been the inclusion of Biamp Launch, the function of discovery and automatic adjustment of devices with a single touch.

This allows rooms to tune in quickly, which was a great advantage due to the large number of rooms involved in the project. EKC was able to install two classrooms a day per pair of installers.

Since the installation was complete, Merced College reports that the reaction of the professors has been very favorable, appreciating that they can leverage their knowledge of the Zoom desktop client in classrooms while being supported by a powerful audio-visual system.
