RTS Odin responds to the audio and communication challenges of the Lugo auditorium
The Digital Intercom Matrix RTS Odin Omneo from 32 Puertos is the center of a crystal clear audio between the performance spaces of the Lugo auditorium.
A new cultural center in the Galician city of Lugo has been equipped with a state-of-the-art audiovisual solution provided by Chemtrol. At the center of this facility, that guarantees communication in the two performing arts halls of the Lugo Auditorium, a digital intercom array is located Odin Omneo of 32 RTS ports.
The auditorium of Lugo is a large cultural complex of more than 15.000 square meters, built to host a variety of events, from concerts, ballets and theatrical productions to conferences and presentations.
The enclosure is divided into several spaces, with two performing arts halls (an auditorium with 900 seating and a theatre with capacity for 300 people), an exhibition and congress area, a music school, a media library, a screening room, eight training stays, a shopping area, a restaurant, offices and an underground car park.
An Odin intercom array provides communication between the 20 intercom stations of the different spaces. Chemtrol opted for the option of 32 harbours, which also offered the possibility of extending the system up to 128 ports within a single 1RU device.
Since the audio system of the entire enclosure works through a network dante, Chemtrol has used Odin's ability to communicate with Dante audio via the integrated Omneo IP architecture to connect the intercom system to the wider network.
This allows for easy communication between the front gallery position of any of the rooms with their DKP-3016 RTS desktop keyboards and the wings that have a rack-mounted KP-3016 keyboard for both performance spaces..
The solution is complemented by a classic intercom installation that has been installed in both rooms. RTS offers products that are backward compatible, which means that the line intercom system was able to connect to the Odin main.
A two-wire intercom power supply PS-20 drives the solution partyline, while universal pouch headphone stations BP-4000 single channel are called by users.
In addition to these fixed points, the venue has also invested in a Dect-based Roameo wireless intercom system for mobile users, including access points AP-1800 and beltpacks TR-1800. The enclosure has six wireless stations that connect to the digital audio network and allow communication between many users of the enclosure.
In addition to its flexible connectivity options, the ability of Odin's Omneo network to communicate with Dante audio devices was another vital element of his selection.. On the other hand, four-wire connectivity enables integration with more traditional broadcast intercom systems, while its IP connectivity Rvon is a powerful solution for connectivity over longer distances.
The integration project presented several challenges. Since the construction of the building was completed long before any decision was made on the audiovisual equipment to be installed, Chemtrol worked to adapt its design without damaging the final appearance of the premises..
The integrator also wanted to create an infrastructure that used the latest technology and could adapt to future innovations.. This led to the creation of a dense network of Cat-6 data cabling and OM3 fiber optics.. Odin fit this concept with its connectivity options and future-proof design for evolving systems.
The result is a powerful solution that responds to the challenges of the Lugo Auditorium. Thanks to its flexible and scalable intercom system, the venue will be able to meet the needs of productions of any scale, delivering flawless audio.
