LG encourages interactivity with the user through its CLOi GuideBot robot
The multipurpose customer service robot Lg CLOi GuideBot made its debut in InfoComm 2022. A solution that combines autonomous movement, AI, voice recognition and two 27 screens″ to provide guidance, accompaniment and interactive information.
LG Business Solutions has presented in InfoComm 2022 its first multipurpose customer service robot, CLOi GuideBot, which is designed to offer guidance, increased security, powerful advertising opportunities and valuable data on interaction and usage times. Next to him, also made its debut at the fair on ServeBot by LG CLOi, an indoor autonomous robot that can carry and deliver food, goods and supplies.
The digital face of the CLOi GuideBot, its voice activation and its two large touch screens have been created to revolutionize the customer experience in, practically, anywhere, from museums and convention centers to cinemas and hotels.
“GuideBot is the latest addition to the LG CLOi family of autonomous service robots, and is the first to address complex user interactions, how to answer voice questions, Accompany guests to your destination and track how many times a motion-triggered ad is shown in a day”, Explains Jeffrey Weiland, head of the B2B robotics team at LG Business Solutions USA.
This robot can say hello, inform and entertain customers in a variety of environments and situations. From exhibitions in museums and cinemas to corporate offices and hospitals. All while collecting usage data, that can be used to streamline operations and improve customer experiences.
The LG CLOi GuideBot measures just under a meter and a half and greets everyone with a friendly smile on an LCD screen of 9,2 inches with 'face'. Thanks to a high-quality microphone, a 3D camera and 18 sensors, among them LiDAR (light detection and ranging), ToF (time of flight), Magnetic, bumpers and IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), the robot can move through crowded spaces and react to approaching users with visual and auditory effects.
With nine hours of operation and a fast charging time of five hours, This robot is a reliable assistant that can move one meter per second to respond to changes in foot traffic or even physically guide people to their destination..
The two touch screens of 27 LG inches, located on the front and back of the main body of the robot, provide bright, readable canvases for interactive and static digital content, as menus, maps and videos.
Graphical user interface
The customizable functionality available in the LG CLOi GuideBot makes it the ideal co-worker for various types of businesses.
In the hotels, the device can receive new guests and direct them to the elevators, to the bar or answer questions about local attractions and restaurants.
For visitors to museums, can provide detailed information about exhibitions, including video content, interactive touch applications, sound reproduction and vocal recitation of written information.
It is equally adaptable to corporate offices, government agencies and even hospital settings, where many visitors need to regularly orient themselves by maintaining adequate social distance.
Anywhere or in any situation, the LG CLOi GuideBot can also complement existing security solutions and act as an assistant to security personnel.
The robot has a 'patrol' mode that travels previously planned roads and records surveillance videos. In the future, teleoperation is expected to be added, which will allow security personnel to 'drive' the robot remotely to investigate safety issues.
“By reducing human workload and automating some repetitive tasks, how to give visitors simple directions, our new robot can free up employees to take care of more demanding tasks and offer a more attentive service. At the same time, shopping malls can leverage GuideBot to provide basic security features, as well as orientation, accompanying customers to stores", explains Weiland.
The flexible nature of LG CLOi's GuideBot offers many advantages to facility operators looking to create new revenue streams or improve services.
The advertising function can be used virtually anywhere the general public is present, so hotels can host ads for nearby attractions, or a cinema can advertise its food and drink offerings to people waiting in line at the box office.
Along with other LG CLOi robots, the GuideBot can be part of an ecosystem of always-on, data-rich autonomous assistants that lighten employee workload and improve security.
The data it collects includes the interaction time, the distance covered, the playback time of your ads, the number of uses, the specific data requested by users, the most common searches or questions, and all this can be viewed in real time or saved for review.
LG has developed a simple cloud interface to enable fast creation of graphics and messages, including menu templates, background images and much more. The robot can issue both on-screen and spoken ads to inform customers that a store is closing or that hospital visiting hours have ended..
In a hospitality environment, a personalized menu on the touchscreen could allow customers to make an appointment at a spa or make a reservation at a street restaurant.
The robot is currently compatible with Hanwha solutions, Platbread, Mindslab and Clobot, making it easy to integrate with existing systems.
