The cylindrical Led screen 'Tecnohito' becomes the digital icon of Benidorm
The Orthem Joint Venture – Emurtel (Etra Group) and Led Dream Group have created the new digital architectural engineering work of Benidorm and one of the most spectacular in Spain: 'Tecnohito', with more than 300 m2 Led Screen.
Famous for being one of the most visited tourist cities in the Mediterranean, the Benidorm City Council has taken advantage of the remodelling works on Avenida del Mediterráneo, one of its main tourist and commercial routes, to turn it into a sustainable and multifunctional urban space.
The project, The construction management and the integral design has been led and executed by the architect Joaquín Alvado Bañon, ICCP Miguel Ángel Crespo Zaragoza and Guide Consultants – Civil & Architectural Engineering.
This circular outer screen of more than 300 m2 Surface Led Display and 22 meters high, it is one of the largest in Europe. Benidorm City Council has counted on the creation of the UTE Orthem – Emurtel (Etra Group), that has collaborated with its partner Led Dream Group, Design Manager, supply and implementation of Led technology for the execution and commissioning of Tecnohito and the so-called Technostop, A large digital marquee to improve the citizen experience.
Tecnohito will be used to show advertising actions – whose commercialization together with the management of information content of the Tecnoparada is the responsibility of Exterior Plus-, Institutional initiatives and live shows, among other content and events in the city.

This innovative cylindrical digital system has had precise engineering work to create the support structure, composed of a modular LED curtain system that reduces weight considerably and does not present wind obstruction thanks to its high Level of transparency (67%), allowing greater visibility of the structure.
Custom made to meet all the requirements set by the Benidorm City Council, this modular outdoor Led screen has very specific specifications, as if it does not present Gap Between cabinets, so the Led panels fit perfectly making a perfect polygonal curve that respects the horizontal pixel pitch without leaving free spaces, allowing the content of the screen to be seen continuously.
Another special feature is its light weight, of 13Kg/m2, which relieves the load for the structural element, which together with height and size were fundamental aspects given the complexity of its design.
Tecnohito displays content from the 8:00h at 00:00, while at the Tecnoparada it begins at 6:00h to the 1:00, with specific nighttime content to avoid excessive brightness for the neighbors. These spaces generate about one and a half million impacts a week.
