Supercell installs more than 500 Genelec speakers in their new offices

The Finnish mobile gaming company Supercell has settled in its new offices in Helsinki near 500 Speakers Genelec of which some 300 are Smart IP.

Akukon is a benchmark in acoustics and AV design in Finland and collaborated with experts in audiovisual solutions, Audico, who were responsible for the design and integration of the systems.

“When designing these spaces – especially those dedicated to teams and meeting rooms- It was essential that they were easy to use and monitor and that they were tailored to our needs. From an audio standpoint, Genelec was the choice, especially the new Smart IP speakers. We use your loudspeakers in all our offices worldwide, so it was a natural choice for this project as well. We saw that Smart IP with its integrated DSP was a great option for our team space and meeting room designs where there is no centralized DSP.", Haikonen continues.

Regarding the installation and configuration of the room, The challenge was to respond to the variety of different spaces that required different approaches. For team spaces and medium-sized Zoom rooms, in which the audio system is simple, two Genelec speakers and the integrated DSP have been used for equalization and volume control.

In larger rooms with more equipment, Smart IP Manager has been used to update the firmware of the speakers, while everything related to audio is managed by the processor Q-SYS and then sent to the speakers. IP addresses were configured with a custom script, and speakers were named in Dante Controller. Monitoring is done via the Genelec API using custom Audico software.

In the two largest meeting rooms, Three-way coaxial speakers The Ones have been deployed as the main system, with speakers 4430 Smart IPs used for Voice Lift and as a delay system for the main speakers.

The Voice Lift system uses a combination of microphones and speakers, strategically placed to subtly amplify the voice, so that a person speaking on one side of a large room can be heard on the same level on the opposite side, even if it is 30 meters away.

Genelec systems also adorn the main lobby, The Gym, the cafeteria and staff leisure facilities. Many of the speakers were later painted in custom colors to match Supercell's fantastic décor.
