the Jackie Robinson Museum just opened its doors in Manhattan. It is a space of 6.000 square meters that has been designed as a “Place for dialogue on critical social issues and innovative educational programming”. After a decade of development, Ideum has participated in the project in collaboration with Gensler, which has developed the original concept for the interactive field of Ebbet.
The exhibition chronicles Jackie Robinson's pioneering achievements in the context of U.S. history., since its birth in 1919 to the present day. Invoking his role as an advocate for racial equality, social and economic.
The design of the exhibition has been made around a detailed and interactive physical model of Ebbets Field, the home of the Brooklyn Dodgers. It is of scale 1/64 and has controllable Led lighting built throughout the model, from the Ebbets Field sign to items like the Bullpens, dugouts, Press boxes and areas in the stands.
The field is designed for projection mapping and a wall of Led mosaics behind the model finishes the installation.
Ideum has designed and integrated AV elements, while Gensler has been in charge of the software program, which tells stories of Jackie Robinson's career and activism.
The interactive experience includes two new Ideum screens Reading Rail of 34 inches and 5K resolution. A team that will be formally announced as a new product at the end of the year.
Along with all illuminated features, Gardens include a digital scoreboard, masked with a cover made to replicate the original scoreboard at Ebbets Field. In addition, there are a number of billboards that were seen back in the heyday of the Brooklyn Dodgers. The stands are full, as they would be in a playoff game. The model has been designed, manufactured and integrated in the manufacturing studio of Ideum in Corrales, New Mexico.
Ideum has been working with Gensler, who has been in charge of architecture and interior design; to showcase graphic design and the digital experience. The project manager has been Zubatkin Owner Representation, and Electrosonic has provided AV support.
