LEA Professional powers the audio of the Alfa performing arts theatre

Dante Connect Series Amplifiers READ Professional respond to the audio needs of this well-known theatre in the Czech Republic.

Located in the Czech city of Pilsen, the Alfa Theatre is specialized in the performing arts of puppetry. To respond to audio needs in your busy schedule, its managers have updated their sound system, according to the project designed by AudioMaster CZ, in collaboration with Audio Kropik.

As he explains Jan Zvánovec, project manager at Audio Kropik, "The theatre's sound engineer had big problems with his existing system. We went to see the facility and found that they had speakers that weren't working and old amplifiers that were deteriorating and couldn't be repaired.. Simply, the system had reached the end of its useful life".

To meet the requirements of the Alfa theatre and fit a limited budget, the Audio Kropik team started looking for the components and, as a critical specification, high-quality amplifiers, multichannel, ready for the audio network and that will provide the power and flexibility necessary for the activity of the installation.

"I hadn't used amplifiers from READ Professional before, but they had all the features we were looking for and at a good price -adds Zvánovec-. The amplifier's cloud technology, the built-in DSP and default functions were also very interesting".

The team updated the theater's audio system with a set of three amplifiers from the series. Dante Connect from this manufacturer. specifically, two amplifiers are used READ CS354D four-channel to power the top and bottom main speakers, left, law and central, and one READ CS704D to power the subwoofers.

The new system comprises a combination of nine compact speakers from the AE Series of JBL Pro. A digital mixer Yamaha DM2000, equipped with a Dante network card, communicates directly with LEA amplifiers via this audio network protocol.

"The Dante technology built into the amplifiers allows for an extremely simple connection between the mixing and technical rooms.. Everything worked from the first connection and we have a lot of flexibility for future updates, says Zvánovec.. There's also no need for external speaker processors because everything is managed by the DSP built into LEA amplifiers., saving time and money".

The use of professional audio amplifiers with Integrated DSP has become standard practice for many AV system installers, as it frees up critical rack space and reduces system weight.

All inbound routing, room tuning, Speaker tuning and limitation are built into the amplifier, so equipment racks are smaller, light and clean.

"All the connectors and features of lea amplifiers are arranged very logically and well designed.; the manufacturer has created them with the installer in mind, stresses Zvánovec.. We create several presets and store them on the computers so that the customer can easily change the settings.".

The new audio system works even better than expected, as Zvánovec emphasizes, "Not only because of the new speakers, but for the powerful and natural sound of LEA amplifiers, and that's why we've added them as a supplier for future projects.".
