Avolites Prism Zero simplifies video design in complex projects
The new tool connects directly to the lighting consoles Avolites Titan via an NDI connection and controlled by Synergy settings.
Avolites has launched its new Prism Zero app that brings simplicity to complex video design and integration. This tool expands the range of live production tools along with significant updates to Prism Player. The new platform is ideal for locals, corporate events or art installations where there may not be a video specialist on site.
Prism Zero expands complementary toolset to give designers a straightforward platform to integrate video into their projects. Based on the features of Prism Player 1.1, the software allows the media to be easily integrated, previews, cropped and reproduced.
Prism Zero connects directly to Avolites Titan lighting consoles via an NDI connection and is controlled via Synergy settings on both platforms.
Reproduction, layer control (such as aspect ratio and color adjustment), Media transfer and pixel mapping can be controlled through Synergy for seamless integration of lighting and video.
Video can be mapped in pixels, directly on color mixing devices. It is possible to preview multimedia clips in different codecs and convert them on the fly, even in the high-quality AiM codec.
“Incorporating video into projects can be complex and time-consuming”, explains Paul Wong, CEO of Avolites. “Prism Zero provides the first step in integrating video into designs with a simple user interface and powerful feature set that allows users to start bringing more complex elements to their shows without the need for training”.
Avolites has also announced that both Prism Zer and Player 1.1 will support natively, at the end of this autumn, NotchLC, a high-quality GPU-powered codec capable of being used for both intermediation and playback.
It provides the equivalent of an accuracy of 10 bits in a debugging codec that is extremely fast to encode and decode, with a compression ratio of around 5:1.
With the release of Prism Zero, Avolites ecosystem approach to lighting and video integration gains traction. Artificial Intelligence is the main platform for more complex shows or the tool for video specialists. Prism has been created so that any designer can integrate video into their shows.
Prism Zero and Prism Player 1.1 are standalone apps available for free download (both are compatible with Windows). Users will need an Avolites Editor AvoKey license or any Avolites Ai license to use Prism Zero.
