Neumann KH 150: studio monitor with DSP technology
With a compact format, The Bi-Amplified Speaker Neumann KH 150 surprises by its great clarity, even at a high volume, and very low distortion.
The German manufacturer Neumann, whose solutions it distributes Magnetron, has expanded its line of studio monitors with the KH model 150. A bi-amplified, DSP-controlled speaker with a 6.5" woofer, Newly Developed, with ultra-low distortion and high SPL capability.
Despite its rather compact format, the KH 150 surprises by its great clarity, even at a high volume, and an extended low-end.
The KH 150 It has a flat frequency response of 39 Hz to 21 khz (±3 dB) and is recommended for all applications, from streaming to music production. Including styles that require high levels of hearing and/or powerful, deep bass, Like urban music, EDM or film soundtracks.
"KH 150 bridges the gap between the KH 120 and the KH 310, but it does much more than that.", explains Stephan Mauer, Product Manager. "Its in-house DSP engine offers many benefits, as a linearized phase crossing and a new level in tonal consistency. It is manufactured to extremely low tolerances of no more than ± 0,8 dB".
The digital electronics also allow it to be calibrated through the automatic alignment of MA monitors 1 of Neumann.
"The KH 150 It follows the same philosophy as all of the manufacturer's studio monitors: Maximum linearity, Minimal distortion, No coloration and perfect adaptability to any acoustic environment", says Ralf Oehl, ceo of Neumann. "Its DSP engine integrates seamlessly with the automatic alignment of MA monitors 1 for the best possible sound in any room".
In addition, the KH 150 It is extremely energy efficient. Engineers have been concerned with developing an amplifier technology, patent pending, that combines high audio performance with the energy efficiency of Class D.
Although the amplifiers of the KH 150 deliver up to 145 W to 6.5" woofer and 100 W to 1" tweeter, just consume 17 W at rest. Auto standby mode reduces power consumption to 0,3 W when it hasn't been used for a while, but can be disabled. Offers analog and digital inputs (S/PDIF). It will also be available with redundant AES67 audio network ports that meet broadcast standards such as ST 2110, ST redundancy 2022-7 and Ravenna. At the same time, the KH 150 AES67 supports AES67 network flows generated by Dante.
